Unless this is really Kasper, Marvel has sunken to a new, stupid low.
I don't get it. Why is the former king of a sovereign nation (prince?) doing fighting crime in the U.S.? Especially considering that the said nation is probably in an upheal like it wasn't for a very long time (loss of vibranium). What he was to bored at home so he decied to catch some purse stealers and weapons smuglers in Hell's Kitchen? Sorry but it just doesn't make any sense.
The art is hideous and so dark you can't even see what the hell's going on. The artist looks to have no clue how to do action scenes.
Five issues tops then this gets shit canned.
Yes, in the 70s when writers weren't canny enough to realize it's kinda beneath a leader of one of the most advanced nations of the world to be teaching a high school class. When all minority characters were pigeon-holed in into 'street' stories.
Some 30 years later, I kinda hoped that writers were past that. Guess not.
For as many times they've tried to make him cool, for as many favorable arguments I've heard from fans, I just don't find the Black Panther interesting. He always comes of as stiff, stilted and bland to me. PASS.
Jeez, CBR must have inherited all of the members of Newsarama when it became such a pain in the ass to post comments there. What a bunch of Negative Nellies.
I think this looks really great. To those who question why this is happening, hey, how about you wait until the story is told. I'm certain it will be addressed. But no, that would be too easy. Instead let's bitch about a few pages of unlettered artwork from a book that's not coming out for months.
To those who feel this is bad art, I really don't know what to say to that. Francisco Francavilla is a great artist and these pages look fantastic.
Looks like good pulpy fun to me. I'm going to check it out.
Am I the only person who thought 'Batman?' when I saw the first page?
I don't know if this will be a good story or not but I'm with you. Why do they feel the need to have T'Challa be "in the streets"?
Obviously we won't know until the book is released but unless they have some super unique take on why he is there and cares to be there, I can't say that this will be something that interest me.

Having the former leader of a country patrol Hell's Kitchen is like have Obama run the PTA in Milburn, NJ.
