I remember it and the show as being kinda cute. Always hoped for a romance between Alf and the daughter.

...I had one issue as a kid. Alf made a swimsuit for the daughter out of Melmacian fabric, she wore it to the beach, and it turned out Alf thought she was going to a lake instead of the ocean because the fabric dissolves in salt water. Oh, that Alf.
I'm not proud that I remember that but not differential equations, mind you.

I have an issue or 2 burried in my collection that I haven't read since buying years and years ago. Certainly nothing to write home about.
I'm glad I'm not the only 1 who picked up on this vibe.
Yes...thought she was going to a lake...sure he did.

Oh, man, back in the day I loved ALF, both the show and the comics. I have every issue of the comic series, plus the annuals and specials. ALF is what got me into comic books when I was 5 years old. While not all of the stories hold up to the "adult" me, and there were way too many puns, some of the stuff was really clever. As a history buff, I loved the Melmac flashbacks. And of course such villains as the Coat Burglar, the Boutree Hunters of Arboria, and ALF's conquistador duplicate, Pizarro ALF.
Good times.

I was recently reminded of how awesome the theme song to the Alf animated series was:
