Ugh, not sure if I'll be able to deal with Static, no offence but her run on TT left me underwhelmed.

That said I've loved Static since TAS, and will take a look at least. I wonder how much will be the comics and if there will be any canon immigrants from the DCAU (Gear, Ebon, Hotstreak come to mind)

I'm not blaming it on her alone, but her run on TT was the straw that broke the camel's back for me.

With the exception of the artwork, for the past few years TT had become so bad that I finally dropped the book 4 issues into her run.

I wish her a lot of success with Static, and I hope that the new creative team on TT can get me interested in adding it back to my pull list.

Can someone who's read her TT run (I haven't...but I haven't heard good things*) convince me she isn't going to destroy Girl Genius?

*To be fair, I've not heard good things about Titans for a very long time...maybe it's just not a book that can be done in the grim 4 life DCU.
Static Pulse: That's why I like you. You're like four degrees away from being a William Gibson protagonist.

    A Girl Genius movie?

I've got my fingers crossed !

Here's hoping they do make that film.

Dwayne McDuffie should write this book.

There was a TREMENDOUS disconnect with Henderson and Teen Titans it was evident in each and every word balloon and panel on each page.

I wish her no ill will but this sentence is telling:

With your run on a book that you yourself said "was a perfect fit for you because it combines your strengths in writing teens, your love of comics, your science background, and your sci-fi sensibilities"

This couldn't further from a "perfect fit" if someone tried. She actually notches BELOW Winick's recent disaster of a run on 'Titans' and I would never actually quality TT as "sci-fi" so it's bit misleading to take "fiction" in general, superhero or not, and align it with science fiction because while are similarities there are also differences enough to the extent that the fit would not be perfect.

TT was broken, Henderson was another failed mechanic and I sadly don't see Krul being the master engineer to pull this title from the dreck and mire it's been relegated to. I think he'll do better than Felicia but the time she's spent on TT is best left in the back bins.

Having re-read Krul's Blackest Night works, as well as the Donna and Roy issues of Titans under his pen, I have hope that we will get the 'good' Krul and not the 'Cry for Justice' version.

    I'm not optimistic.
It would require considerable funding and Steampunk is usually considered unsuitable for the masses.

All steampunk movies and most games so far turned out to be either an artistic or commercial desaster.
To those who claim that the general public thinks of Batgirl as Barbara Gordon, let me tell you:
The general public thinks of Batgirl as "just like Supergirl, only for Batman, right?"

To that end, until his book premieres Static will be showing up in a few select places in the DCU.
Where exactly? They're booting him from the Titans, so where exactly will he be showing up?

I like Static but her writing is honestly among the worst I have ever EVER read in 26 years of collecting. Call me a completist or a masochist or whatever, but I have every issue of her run (as I've been collecting Teen Titans from the very beginning of Johns' run) and it was filled with nonsense dialogue, cliches, out of character actions and sayings and a meandering plot that has gone nowhere.

Between this book and Titans proper it's almost as if DC wants to destroy the franchise! lol

But seriously, her writing was awful and I'm disappointed that she was picked to write another book considering the almost universal negative panning of her first one and I fear it's going to lead to an early cancellation of a great character who will then fade into obscurity possibly only to come back in an event as fodder. That's a shame to me.

I agree with you guys on her run--with one exception. Her portrayal of Static and the episodes that focused around him and his family and supporting cast. I thought she nailed them. Her time on Static was a bright light in the run. Yeah, maybe it's because the rest of it was so bad. But it does give me hope for the run.

Writing a solo book is different than writing a team book. We'll see.

It's Static & I'm buying it. I agree on her Static writing to having been spot-on.

I'm beginning to wonder if Henderson is the key to getting Static back on TV. Live-action or toon.

I hope she can pull this off. Static is one of my favorite heroes in DC so I really want this to be a hit. Its good to hear that Superboy will be teaming up with Static as Superboy is also one of my favorite heroes. Hopefully Henderson will find her muse and this series will be well written and with a decent artist.
