My major gripe is so little happens in each chapter, it drags and I start to lose interest in what comes next, or rather, I'm interested in what comes next so I just want this part to get over with.

This is a lot more fun than Aizen hax arc, but I feel it's going to start falling victim to the fatigue. Bleach reads much better in large chunks.

Bleach is at least interesting to read because Kubo is throwing more weird and interesting plot pieces into the mix, Claymore has just become a really, really, really boring story with incredibly boring flat art, non-existent characterisation and a complete lack of suspense or intrigue.

I mean, if you're getting something out of it then by all means keep reading but I'm genuinely bemused as to how that series can be something you look forward to on a monthly basis.

I see it as a monthly chore to read it.

I remember watching the anime as it was coming out. I got sick of it right before the last episode, which I didn't watch.

I was kinda hoping the manga would continue on to be a lot better. That's kind of a shame it is didn't.

Me, I tend to just stop reading for a few months and then if things seem to improve I'll just catch up. I've done that with Naruto several times, and I don't even have a problem with the writing of Naruto.

Then again, I've never understood the whole "reading out of sheer loyalty" thing in the first place. I dropped One Piece the moment I realized I wasn't enjoying it as much as I used to and I haven't really looked back since. It's a lot easier then you'd think. Anyway, forcing yourself to read a manga you no longer like just leads to a lot of bitterness.

Probably part of the reason Bleach is a lot better when you read several chapters in one sitting rather then one chapter every week.

Somehow I get the feeling Kubo would rather take more time to make longer chapters. He seems to have decided that he's successful enough at this point that he doesn't have to care about keeping his storytelling compressed.

That's a matter of opinion as Claymore has a pretty steady fanbase and many enjoy the manga on a monthly basis, and the fact that I've found Bleach to be unsatisfactory over the past several months is a matter of opinion as well, so I guess people are going to feel how they are going to feel and nothing can change that. Still, in my opinion, Bleach has been pretty bad over the past several weeks, but I'm sure it's a trend that wont last since it's been poor before and Kubo has came back with a slew of fantastic chapters, it'll happen again.

I'm currently doing that with Negima. I think that I'll give it five more chapters before jumping in again.

It isn't that I don't like Bleach, I do, it's just that 8 out of the last 12 chapters have not been good in my opinion, that doesn't mean that the series won't pick up or that I'm not a fan anymore, it just means that it's going through a rut at this moment in time. I'm a huge Chicago Bulls fan, if they lost 8/12 games would I give up on my team? No. I'd be upset and hope that things got better, the same goes with the manga because it's been through situations like this before only to rebound and get good again.

Claymore was at least fun until Priscilla shows up again and unceremoniously WTF-pwns every interesting character in the series.

I could see the writing on the wall-- and pretty much gave up on the series. I read a couple of more chapters but they all seem to dwell on the peanut gallery getting wiped out... had the peanut gallery been more charming or interesting I might have cared.

look at Ishida-- he's an uptight bugger but he always tries to do the right thing. Orohime, when she's not moping in a tower somewhere, is a charming and funny character. if nothing else, Bleach still has some interesting characters to fall back on. you can have a mediocre story carried by a great character-- how else have Batman and Superman survived this long? as bad as Bleach frequently gets it still has good characters. (One Piece and Naruto are the same way-- they have strong characters to help them power through occassionally weak or sloppy story-telling).

Claymore, at present, doesn't have much going for it... not for me.

then again, sometimes things READ better in volume format. for example, what felt like the endlessly tedious "prison arc" in Blade of the Immortal didn't feel bad at all when I could sit down and power through the whole story in one sitting.

With the new episode we finally get a proper look at Ichigo's mountain busting feat. It's pretty damn awesome when animated.

Sadly, Number One doesn't play while Ichigo drags Aizen away from the city.

Pretty much the only thing that bothered me in this episode.

Other than that it was great. Glad to see this finally getting animated.

New episode was really good. I thought they've done a nice job with these last two episodes in terms of pacing. A nice blend of action and suspense.

Gods, I haven't read Negima in forever.

I should order the volumes I'm missing, though at this point it'll cost me almost 800 crowns.

    Sorry, I'm not into sports, so I don't quite understand the comparison. ^^;

Unlike sports, reading manga isn't a game of winning or losing. All I'm saying is that entertaining you is basically Kubo Tite's job, so if you're not entertained by Bleach I don't see why you should feel any obligation to read it.

Yeah! Like The Lucifer and Biscuit Hammer! http://forums.comicbookresources.com...ons/icon14.gif
Okay, so by that logic I should give up after immediatley not being entertained? No. Look, I DO enjoy Bleach, I just haven't been enjoying it LATELY, and it's only been 3 or 4 chapters anyhow, that's not even close to being enough for me to pack my bags and walk away from the series because this has happened before only for the story to get really good again. Give up? Not a chance.
