Stream translation says she saved them from just wandering about aimlessly in Rukon district or something. That implies that they were probably 'lost' when they got to Soul Society and she gave them a place.

Hmm, wasn't that one of the problems in Soul Society that made it a bit of a crappy afterlife?
Once you get there, all you get is a number that tells you which district you pretty much live in from now on...From rather decent to rather violent Hell holes. Barely to no effort is made to have people look for their loved ones.
...Soul Society kind of sucks.

Wait didn't all the way back when Soul Society and Hell were being explained, wasn't it stated that when you went to Soul Society you lost your memories, or am I remembering wrong?
Well, you can always think that since they are now spirit bodies and not flesh and blood they no longer had the means to fullbring anymore. Which is the training that Shukaku is giving them now.
It's like that scene in Ghost were the Subway Man teaches Swayze how to move stuff.
Siriel:
Transient just likes to do that.
Why he keeps picking up ridiculous arguments and then try to defend them, I will never know.
I think they'd still have their fullbring powers, since those are tied to their souls--and so Kubo doesn't have to invent new abilities for them. I suspect their Spirit bodies to now be capable of other superhuman stuff though, which is probably what the training was for.
As for memories, Rukia and her sister remembered that they were sisters, at least, didn't they?

The Spirit King looks a lot like Butterflaizen.
I don't trust him.

Respect the Mamudo Children!
I'm starting to like the zero division. They're funny.
And we get the king's key question answered in this chapter.
Soul King looks... evil. He looks evil. Like, he's not even trying to pretend. He's clearly evil. Which means that he's probably related to Gin.
Those eyes... those yes...
Otherwise, meh chapter.
Wow... that chapter actually took some time to read! Seems like Kubo has been improved a little bit lately.
Anyway, that was a pretty good chapter, I'm surprised that we already got a look at the Spirit King. And the comedy was actually kind of funny.
Rukia's best showing in ages.
