Well, to be fair, Ichigo can use shunpo without Tensa Zangetsu, he just can't do it as well as people like Byakuya, let alone people like Yoruichi or Soifon. Tensa Zangetsu boosts his natural speed, making his shunpo much faster.

In theory, it makes you massively dangerous... if you are already had captain level shunpo mastery. Otherwise, it just lets you hang with the faster characters.

Eh, Ichigo's basic shunpo is already in the Captain class from what I saw, just not top tier. The impressive thing about his bankai was how ridiculously fast he could slash as well. I haven't seen anyone do anything like Ichigo's blocking part of Senbonzakura Kageyoshi with repeated slashes.

Actually, as I have pointed out in the past, it's pretty much the worst bankai.

Yeah, overall its a boring bankai because it doesn't look cool or have any extremely fearsome power but that doesn't bother me. He became pretty kick ass while fighting Byakuya. I'm sure later in the series it gets to the point where his bankai just sucks all around though. Lol

I mean, it's very hard to estimate shunpo speed because it always looks like the same flicker teleporting. The best measures of shunpo skills appear to be range and frequency, and I don't recall shikai Ichigo doing anything impressive in either.

The impressive thing about his bankai was how ridiculously fast he could slash as well. I haven't seen anyone do anything like Ichigo's blocking part of Senbonzakura Kageyoshi with repeated slashes.

I dunno... Hasn't Yoruichi thrown punches at similar intervals? It feels like I've seen something like that.

Mostly because its a very low threshold as several Captains have little to no shunpo feats (with Kenpachi possibly not knowing it at all since its a technique rather than raw speed), and the Vice-Captains don't have any notable Shunpo feats at all.

I dunno... Hasn't Yoruichi thrown punches at similar intervals? It feels like I've seen something like that.

Not that I saw, and definitely not actively defending against such a massive number of blades coming from multiple angles as fast as Byakuya could deliberatly fling it at him.

During the opening of Yoruichi vs. Soifon, when the corps are surrounding Yoruichi, she uses Shunpo to blitz all of the mooks in what clearly looks like simultaneous punches delivered against multiple people over a large area.

Yes they do. Rangiku can definitely use shunpo -she used it to kill Nakeem, while basically giving his Sonido the finger- and I'm pretty sure the other vices can as well. Hell, even Omaeda can use it. Omaeda, for goodness sake!

Well, it's not like he blocked every single petal individually. At least, there's no reason to think so.

Because Ichigo`s shunpo was on the same level as Byakuya, who had to use bankai to gain the upper hand until Ichigo used his bankai.

No no no.

Aizen will give a sob story about how he just wanted to protect the world/memory of his double-dead little sister/pet gold fish/whatever and that's why he did all those horrible things that he did. But after being shortly locked up he's seen the error of his ways and will repent by protecting soul society from the nazi.... I mean quincy.

Ichigo will tell to shut up because he's not stupid enough to fall for something like that. At least I hope so.
