So, what? Killing them all earns him 18,800 years, but mocking them is 20,000?

Incidentally, this definitely proves that Gin isn't dead. They'd either have shown him disappearing, or showed his dead body with a "He's Dead" sign.
...Given that they have people who can bring back the dead, and that someone weaker than him survived getting cut in half, he's definitely alive.

If Hinamori trying to kill him over a letter from Aizen wasn't enough for him to stop liking her, then I don't see what was supposed to change that in this arc.

No. I'm talking about how he's more concerned about beefing up his ice powers instead of finding an effective tool or technique for countering illusion-typed zanpaktous. But I guess if he wants to learn how stab Hinamori "better" than last time for Aizen's shits and giggles, then I say good luck to the dumbass.
