I'm really liking were things are going in Bleach. I'm looking forward to Ichigo beating up his quincy foes and the coming quincy/shinigami war.
Mayuri and Yamamoto's discussion along with vice-captain discussion does good job of showing that the morality here isn't entirely clear cut.I always figured that Zommari was mainly the most skilled at sonido of the espada. Others, like Starrk and Ulquiorra, however had more raw speed.
It's hard to root for any side here. Guess we've just got to back characters we like.
"A fast low flying Power Girl could take out a platoon of soldiers without even throwing a punch."

Maybe, Yoruichi and Byakuya also made clones that were solid enough to bleed but then disappeared. Yoruichi was even the one who taught Byakuya how to do it, hence why he hated the technique.
And that fat, legless released state, how in the world is Zommari supposed to use sonido like that?
I just can't take Jab's opinion about the Quincy's being secret good guys as serious. Taking an established idea and trying to turn it back on itself is something I would do so perhaps I'm a bit jaded about all this.
But it just......I mean I could make the same argument that Hollows are secret good guys. By consuming wayward souls the Hollows actually cut down on dangerous hauntings by localizing the danger to a smaller area. Add to that the fact that the more powerful the Hollow becomes the less a danger they actually present to the real world.
Starkk.....lazy and sleeping.
Barragan.....ruling a kingdom where he killed off hollows
Tia.....turns out she's a caring being.
By destroying the Hollows the Quincies are throwing the balance of nature out. What happens when nature is thrown out of balance? Things get bad.
The argument that they "release the energy out randomly" well.....the energy that would be used to make souls is now randomly out there. Useful to no one.
So yeah.....not sure if misguided or trolling.

Transient just likes to do that.
Why he keeps picking up ridiculous arguments and then try to defend them, I will never know.
We didn't even have a reason to think the Soul King was anything other than some boring dude until the end of the arc. I'd say finding out it might be some kind of Cosmic Terror was not a disappointment.
Of course, the Quincies were kind of secret good guys up til the Vandenreich came in. If King Manlybeard was doing this as some kind of evil plot to screw up the world, it puts them in a different light than when it was just the Ishidas.

Pretty much.
Let's face it we have always known SS was more than a little shady. Ever since they decided to kill Rukia "because Central Something said so". It is a lawful institution but it drifts in and out of lawful evil like crazy along with more than a little lawful stupid.
In cases like this, you got to back Chaotic Good Ichigo and his ragtag bunch of misfits.
"I am Shishihime Ikiho! The legendary hero who has lived 5000 years!"
"That's right, and I am a high schooler who couldn't live alone even for a second... and is as cool as the devil himself."
So, how powerful do you guys think Current Ichigo and his bankai is compared to his previous state?
He seems stronger than his previous shikai and bankai at any rate. Would current bankai Ichigo be stronger than the HM masked Ichigo?
I'd say his complete Hollowfication and post-Dangai forms are still stronger. What do you think?
If we go by the sword-swing and getsuga he used against Ginjo as an example I'd say that his attack power has risen somewhat beyond what they used to be before. We haven't seen enough to guess how much though, he hasn't even used getsuga tenshou while in his new bankai mode yet and he hasn't fought anybody that's been able to challenge him either.
His super-Hollow and FG forms are most certainly MUCH stronger than what he is now. This is seen mainly by him not blowing up buildings by swinging his sword in their direction.
Also, the balance of souls thing seems to have changed. The way I understood it when Rukia explained about the Quincys was that by destroying the souls of hollows instead of clansing them they were creating an imbalance of souls between the real world and soul society. Too many people who die on earth would never end up in Soul Society, so that soul society would start to run out of souls.
Now they're saying that there have to be a certain amount of hollows in Hueco Mundo to keep the balance. If one of the goals of the shinigami is to prevent the creation of more hollows in the real world wouldn't that upset the balance just the same?
There don't need to be a certain amount of hollows in Hueco Mundo; the balance is being disturbed because the purge of the hollows is being done by Quincies, so their existence is being destroyed entirely.
My guess, based around my experience as a budget analyst, is that they view the population of Hueco Mundo as souls that they have 'balanced' against their quota. They don't have them yet, but they expect that they'll get steadily cleansed and sent in, so their quota looks good.
Now someone just came in and took X amount of your expected income. But you'd already balanced your budget with that income in mind. We're coming in close to the end of the fiscal year, so now we've got to drop some of our planned expenses or do layoffs (purge population) so we are budgeted correctly again and not in a deficit.
It's like that I think, only the world supposedly comes to an end if you fuck it up.
