Well this should be fun. I guess "Captain America" didn't fare too well. I am hoping she blows up the view.

"People love Obama and there is no real dirt on Obama. With George Bush, Bomb Queen had all kind of blackmail dirt on him. With Obama, there is nothing. He's really clean."
Are you kidding me? And you are saying you are not jumping on the Obama bandwagon?
Is anyone else tired of seeing Obama in comics? Let try to keep real life out of comics as much as possible.
Also he is very ignorant on politics. Obama has no plans to shut down Gitmo despite the rhetoric. Also Obama and Bush actual politics are not that different when in office.

Did Robinson do this interview back in '08? Or is he living in a different reality than everyone else? People love Obama? There's no dirt on Obama and he's "pretty clean"? He shut down gitmo and is such a no-nonsense tough guy that he "wouldn't put up with" Bomb Queen on US soil?
I'm sorry for Robinson that he had whatever happen that delayed this from getting made while the Obama lovefest was still in full swing. The pendulum has swung the opposite way now, and It's going to be a real tough sell.
First off, I want to thank CBR for another nice interview!
Second, for those who have read the book/series they know it has always been about politics -- *years* before Obama was in office. But it's written in a way so it's not stuffed down your throat. But consider the platform of the last 5 volumes (each a 4 or 6 issue story arc):
BQ vol. 1 vs. Senator Robert Woods.
BQ vol. 2 vs. Bomb King; hired by the U.S. Government
BQ vol. 3 vs. Bomb Teen; created by the Bush administration
BQ vol. 4 vs. Senator Hillstone; the Queen invades Bush's ranch in Texas.
BQ vol. 5 vs. White Knight in Littleville; with the secret government base.
and now...
BQ vol. 6 vs. Obama, who wants to close her city.
People who've read the book know it's a dark commentary and satirical jab at pop culture and current events. Ya' can't make fun of today's events without twisting reality. There are plenty of other books to read that *play nice*. This isn't one of them.
Let's remember, this is a *villain* book. You think Obama will get a ride on a unicorn? There is no Obama bandwagon here. The President, Biden, Clinton, and even the family dog will be lucky if they can even walk straight when this is over. My only wish is that this came out last year as solicited (sadly, I had a few family emergencies), because nowadays it's almost fashionable to politically beat on the President, I was trying to do it a year ago.
(well, not *me* personally, I got nothing against Obama, but in this book... my personal views can't save him from Bomb Queen. To do otherwise would be to... jump on the bandwagon. I'm staying true to the character and the book, thank you very much.) Hahah!
Don't knock it until you have read it.
Jimmie... that's your hook? Featuring the President? What is this, 2009? I can't imagine it takes much to draw 22 pages worth of cleavage, so what kept you? What's next, a “Twilight” spoof? I hear the Jersey Shore is still on the air. Maybe you can send there. Help make her a little more irreverent. That's her thing right? Sassy and free!
Trouble reading? He explained in the interview that Obama is just the latest political character in the series.Yup. Trouble reading (and trouble appreciating the work it takes to draw 22 pages of anything). Already answered in as much detail as the readers are entitled to know.I can't imagine it takes much to draw 22 pages worth of cleavage, so what kept you?
Just because the story goes over some people's heads doesn't mean there isn't one. I'm really not a boob fan (Seriously. I'm not.) but I get a kick out of Bomb Queen because it's not about the boobs. The boobs are just the butter on a tasty slice of "wry" bread.
You can't ignore the president in a book like this. Also when BQ complained that the press wasn't going after him it was at a time when most of the press wasn't going after him. That's faded a bit, the press after all loves to build someone up to tear them down.
Also the president has to be aware of NPC and realize just how wrong it is. But on the other hand how do you close down a city? NPC has some of the greatest criminals on the planet, but since the entire city is a crime zone who do you arrest? How many prisons do you need to build for an entire city population? How exactly do you do deal with the problem? I don't think that the fictional president has a clue beside "throw a superhero at her."

God yes.
Ah the you dont like it because you didnt get it line...
If it's "not about the boobs" do a series of covers that dont focus on her cleavage at all then. If it's really not about the boobs, advertise it as such.I'm really not a boob fan (Seriously. I'm not.) but I get a kick out of Bomb Queen because it's not about the boobs
Hey guys and girls!!!!!
Bomb Queen is a VILLAIN. And if she wants to blow up the ass of Obama, she can do it.
I am not against Obama (but during the last days, he wasn't a very good POTUS...). He does his job for what is was elected for. That's the real life.
Bomb Queen is a satirical comic book, so a fictional one. And she does what she wants. SOOOOOOO, if she want to blow up the White House presidential toilets, she does it. You will be blessed by the Presidential Shit Grace. What a memorial day it will be!!!!! SPROOOTCH!!!!!!!
Understand?
And for the Image Relied Edition staff, when will we see the Bomb Queen Omnibust #2???? Do you want to be blow up to????? Or a rectal colposcopy without dreaming drugs????? Your choice.
No, it's the "you're assuming you won't like it because you don't get it" line. If someone reads a book and doesn't like it, that's fine. If someone doesn't read a book, and doesn't even read the description of it, and criticizes it for what he assumes it is, he's a bit of a dolt.
I love this thread.
Bomb Queen is a divisive book. And I'll be first to admit, it is asking to eat the cake and ice cream, too. But hey, that's cool. There are *tons* of books to read on the shelf besides mine. Bomb Queen isn't for everyone, it has some pretty extreme elements (hence the gratuitous covers). Those covers make sure people are *this tall* to get on this dark and evil amusement ride. The opposite direction is to have a book that looks innocent *like any other comic* but then -- shock you with a bait-and-switch.
That's a sure fire way to find myself in court (as others have).
Anyone picking up Bomb Queen should be aware of what's up (even if there's only one crazy scene in the issue). But for some folks even one extreme scene of pedophilia, hate speech, racism, nudity, genocide or raping Michelle Obama over the Resolute desk is too much. Especially when such subjects are played for laughs. But that's the vile character of Bomb Queen (and her entire city of criminals).
Like I said, it's not for everyone. In fact, I'd be scared if everyone did like this book. It would mean either I'm not making it ugly and evil enough, or that you people scare the hell out of me. Hahah!
Anyway, thanks for all the comments. Controversy like this fuels my pencil.
I can't make a book like this and make everyone happy because Bomb Queen isn't like other books.
