That has to be the funniest and at the same time most inspiring thing i have read in a minute. Great job to follow your dream.
I wonder did Aaron just tell them to give him a new USM collection once he signed at Marvel?
Is it Marvel/DCs fault that you love buying the books? or is it your fault for having to show restraint in buying books?
Fantastic first column. Jason, every new career in comics comes with its early disappointments -- the job that almost happened. Will you discuss any comics you were in discussions for, that came really close to happening, but ultimately didn't? I love stories of "what could have been"...

I ain't no hot dog, yo.
Also, I once worked in a porn warehouse myself. While amusing at first, that ended up being one of the more depressing jobs I ever had. Being around that much porn all the time, it grates on you.

Awesome and inspiring. I read scalped 1-40 last weekend and was blown away. Its brutal, it rips your heart out and stomps on it, but you cant put it down.
Nice coloumn.
I'm an aspiring comic book writer myself, and I was very heartened to read this. Especially since his breakout was The Other Side, which was innovative and phenomenal.
In twenty years time, Jason's Aaron will be as highly revered as Alan Moore or Grant Morrison. Mark my words. "Scalped" is probably THE single best mainstream comic being published.
Loved it enough, that it got me to log back in. (given, a lengthy process when one has forgotten the passwords...)
Simple, funny, deep, and complex.
Funny like an Ellis, with the bite of an Ennis yet with a distinctive touch that is just simply Aaron.
Bravo.
Awesome and very touching first column. Couldn't stop smiling all the way through it.

That was a great read.
Really inspiring.
