Wait, does that mean there's a 52 episode first season or two seasons of 26 or 4 of 13 or what?
Please I beg every one to NOT watch this CRAP.
Compare this to the JLU Series from DC Animated. That was art. All the Marvel Cartoons have been brain-dead, cheap-assed "feature" which could hold the attention of a child with a reasonable IQ.
I was not quite as blown away by that clip as I'd hoped. And that song, oh gosh almighty that horrible, horrible song! Oh well, I'll still give it a watch.
Can't wait to check this out.![]()

Friend me on CHAMPIONS ONLINE! The handle is "Tymminator"!
I'm getting somewhat tired of the fact that everytime Nick Fury appears outside of the "616" universe, it's the "Samuel L. Jackson" version. Why not throw in Apache Chief, Samurai and El Dorado if everything has to be all PC, melting pot-ish?
They're probably available!
Since it's airing on the Disney Channel, it's safe to assume that the concept, layout and marketing of the show will be aimed to satisfy and amuse children "with reasonable IQs," as a good many of the Marvel cartoons are. And I don't think it's fair to call all of their programs brain-dead and cheap-assed: several of their shows, including Spectacular Spider-Man and the 90s X-Men had character development and complex and intricate plots. You shouldn't be expecting every show on television to be synonymous with art; and if you want a cartoon for adults, check out Adult Swim or wait for the Black Panther TV show.
Ummm.... because those are all DC Comics characters?
Also, does anyone have a date for the US premiere? The article says "The US will see the series this fall while the Canadian debut takes place on Friday, October 22 at 8 p.m."
I consider October 22 pretty late into the fall. If we're getting the premiere after that, it's going to be winter.

My Heroes For Hire: Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Misty Knight, Colleen Wing, The Falcon, Ant-Man (Scott Lang). White Tiger IV and Powerman would be interns.
Did you catch the 'Vigilante strikes again' (or something) Punisher article on the newspaper at the very beginning..?
Anyways, apart from the horrible, horrible theme song (they have time to come up with something new), this should make a great cartoon for the kids (and I'll probably check it out...uh..just for the cameos).
I'm kind of digging the dual-vibe of the 60's and the modern era.
KIMOTAZAM!!
(like 'Zing!', only bigger and louder)
Don't forget about the reports of a "man-like thing"!!!
I'm excited that it seems they're going to basically tell all the major storylines. The rotating cast is a big plus, that way no fans classic or new should feel left out.
Gotta agree about the song, it's really, really horrible.

i used to share similar viewpoints to this. i think we as fans are kind of spoiled. we became used to such thorough, loving and respectful treatment of characters and stories with the timm/DCAU series. we got addicted, i think. anything that wasn't timm related or even the 90's Marvel stuff, i wouldn't watch. at first, i thought shows like batman: the brave and the bold or the superhero squad were horrendously stupid. i gave it a chance and i now really like them.
yes, this theme song merits all kinds of facepalms, but i'm willing to overlook it. this is the first legitimate-looking avengers series in i don't know how long. so chalk one person up on the hopeful side.
It remains to be seen whether or not it will actually be "CRAP", but your point is well taken. The talent at Warner/DC seem to have a much better idea about how to make toonz than Disney/Marvel (stressing the Marvel aspect, of course; Disney on their own, or with whomever they typically collaborate, have a clue. Kim Possible was a guilty pleasure. Heck, even Lilo & Stitch was cute.).
At least - at the very, very least - it can't be worse than the 90's series. I gave up on that Avengers toon after three episodes and still can't get the stink off my brain. That it came on the heels of the not terrible original X-Men series made the pill that much more bitter.
Curious as to why Brainiac appears to be one of their first major villains... but, hey, the Wrecker looked alright!
Oh, it was bitter even if you thought the original X-Men series WAS terrible (like me; I couldn't stay with it to see if the stories were really 'complex and intricate' as another poster mentioned, because it was so damn UGLY from a design & animation POV!). I hoped against hope that the old Avengers cartoon would FINALLY redeem Marvel from the drek that was Spider-Man and X-men (along with other similarly-styled Marvel 'toons from the '90s).
But no. It stunk.
They only finally got redeemed with X-Men: Evolution and Spectacular Spider-Man. Took 'em long enough (and there were duds between the two, as well, like the Fantastic Four and MTV Spider-Man). And, although it's not meant to be a 'serious' superhero action show in the vein of most of DCAU, including the relatively lighthearted Batman: Brave & the Bold, Superhero Squad is fun as a silly hero show. From what little I've seen, Wolverine & The X-Men wasn't terrible, either. Looked better than the '90s, nice use of characters... I still wanna watch more, even though it's axed.
This Avengers show may work well... it LOOKS a lot better than any of the '90s Marvels, at least. And they're working in tons of cameos by the looks of it, which was one of the fun aspects of JLU. Shows they're doing some homework. The supervillain prison breaks bringing the heroes together is a nice nod to Bendis' first New Avengers arc. It's worth watching an episode or three to give it a chance, even if the theme seems to be painful![]()
