Default CBR: Tischman & Huehner on "Angel's" Finale

IDW's ongoing "Angel" title goes out with a bang as writers David Tischman and Mariah Huehner come on for the six-issue arc "The Wolf, the Ram, and the Heart" beginning with November's issue #39.

The last issue was creditd to all three. Considering Huehner is the editor, all this says Willingham's script was rewritten and he walked away. Willigham was really setting things up and then some are started to be reversed, so I guess there was an edict that Angel needed to wrap up in a certain state.
Too bad as Willingham has been the best writer on that series and I'd even say on Angel and Buffy combined.

I am getting tired of the Connor focus. I want more focus on actual members of team angel not traitors. More focus on Illyria, Gunn, and Spike.

    Default Would love any help!

I read the whole arc of after the fall and stopped i think midway through the next part when the angel is introduced...before I pick up the last arc, "The Wolf, Ram, and Hart" can anyone tell me what arcs/issues I have missed? I didn't even know they kept the series going because my local comic book shop stopped carrying it after that, but then I saw this article. Is it like "After The Fall", "whatever blah whatever", "season 5", "Wolf, Ram, Hart?" or am I wrong?

I would suggest going to a Buffy wiki and reading the descriptions but really everything since after the fall has been awful. Angel Investigations has way to many characters and an uneven distribution of focus that has made Connor the main focus at the expense of everyone else. Before the most recent chapter, Angel was barely getting any screen time in his own book. Basically Connor has some prophecy about him and has an army of female demons following him around. Angel got kidnapped by a group that wanted to manufacture demons. Illyria went into heat and tried to screw Connor. Spike lost his soul for some reason. Gunn quit the team for awhile because Connor is a jerk and get over being killed even though he betrayed Angel multiple times. They got three new characters one of whom turned out to be an evil faerie, the other was a shapeshifter who just got killed, and Laura Weathermill is a former watcher who just joined the team. Also Angel's old police cop gf is back on the team. Electric Gwen is running around doing random stuff as well.

Also they have an Eddie Hope backup and he is about to join the team. Basically, he hunts down killers from HellA and has devil powers which allow him to manipulate ice. He hunts down Gunn and tries to kill him but Spike and Angel show up and are about to stop him. He also has a mysterious informant who tries to convince him not to kill Gunn.

Also several characters spend their time getting constantly trolled in fights that they should win for silly reasons. Like Illyria who wrestled dragons and disintegrated heads with a single punch being unable to hold down a weakened Soul Eater and Gunn being unable to defeat Eddie Hope despite far more combat training.

I'd be inclined to agree with that, though I don't hate on Lynch. I thought his writing and dialogue were great but the overall execution kind of fell apart in the end.

When Willingham came onboard, was the move to Dark Horse a done deal (or even known of) yet? Maybe that's why he left?

Worst mishandling of a licensed property ever. IDW blew it big time. Thank god it's going to Dark Horse.
