i wanna movie or series about the original sandman. noir setting, 1920' post WW1 setting. man dreams every night about murders happening(sometimes before they have happened, sometimes years after or presently) so he decides to don a gas mask, and trench coat and kill those murderers with a gas gun.

sandman mystery theater was a awesome comic. better than the other sandman stuff.
northlanders .american vampire. bprd. concrete. detective comics.

I would very much like to see this. But I definitely think Neil Gaiman should be in some part of the creative process.

This could be The Twilight Zone for a new generation, I don't know about doing Dream and Death type stories, but an anthology series....maybe animated in some parts.

    Yeah this sounds really good

I don't agree that Sandman Mystery Theatre was better than The Sandman (although SMT is, in fact, a great comic), but I think he has a point - a TV show based on Dodds would, indeed, rock.

Why does WB TV need to get the rights to something that WB already owns?

And it will suck I think. Unless, they move it over to HBO. And animate it.

No it's not. DC published few (if any) creator owned titles when Sandman was launched.

Nope, it was just a revamping of the golden age Sandman. Warner owns it.

Although I think Gaiman has some (small) part ownership or a really good profit-sharing deal or SOMETHING. I remember reading that he started with nothin', asked for a piece of the Sandman pie, and DC gave him what he wanted. It wasn't full creator ownership or even close, but it was a better deal than most creators get.
