With respect to Marvelman, Brevoort said, “Not only do we need to make sure everything is right and proper with everyone associated with the character, but we need to do Marvelman right.” Marvelman writer Neil Gaiman has spent some time with the Marvel staff to share his ideas. Brevoort is aware of people waiting for developments with the property, but said it is still some time off in the future. “Not a day has gone by that we have not worked on Marvelman in one way, shape or form,” including the remastering of the early material.
On the one hand, I wish it was going quicker; on the other, we've waited this long, and it's nice to hear they're taking their time (hopefully) making sure they get it right.

It'd be nice if they could get the big stuff rolling before Anglo passes away, but it sounds like he's gotten enough from the sale of the property to be comfortable.

An excellent question in, "what the hell is going on with Daredevil?" Then again, it was of course followed by a horrible answer. Seriously though, Daredevil has been a consecutively good title since it's relaunch in 1998, and now it's nothing but a joke. Bendis wrote the best DD run I've ever read, followed by a very good Brubaker run. I'm not sure what Diggle was thinking, but he REALLY f'ed up up Daredevil.

Ok, glad to hear they're giving Marvelman the proper respect. I don't expect it to last but I hope it does.

I've liked everything vie read by Diggle, but yeah, this seems really off and horrible for DD.

*** 4 *** Ultimate Avengers titles ? For real ? If so, that just killed the Ultimate line for me. That was part of the appeal was a fairly controlled tightly knit universe w/o tons of titles.

Hmmm the forever universe isn't popular enough to expand, but has a strong niche market. So XM:F is continuing

Static Pulse: That's why I like you. You're like four degrees away from being a William Gibson protagonist.

well that's pity there's nothing in stands for 'Werewolf by Night'...

I'm an huge fan of Ann Nocenti' work on 'SpiderWoman' whose actually 4-issues long before the title get cancelled but what she did was properly extraordinary; especially in the very last issue by mixing older friends and foes ( Gipsy Moth, the Shroud, Werewolf by Night ) with new creations of her own ( Daddy Long-Legs, Poltergeist ) around the main character and constituing a very strange cast for the title who was very interesting. But despite the very efforts of Brian Bendis ( very great thanks to him for the return of Jessica as a top-list character )

Of course there are a lots of others things to do with Jack Russell ( ian33407@gmail.com, restaurant tickets are welcome too ) than absolutely recuperate the old SpiderWoman crew, but I'm still attached to the idea because it is also about a way of thinking comics who is starting to get forgotten...

I also expected a lot about the Forever title, especially from 'New Mutants' with more Claremont and Sienkiewicz issues; I can accept a lot to reach trough that...was also dreaming about an 'Alpha Flight Forever' title, taking place before Guardian' death...and ideally draw by Walt Simonson -see how I was sleeping well. I'm very curious about the one-shot coming soon ' Chaos War : Alpha Flight' also, can't help wishing it 'll drive to a new ongoing...

Not all at once! They just mean there will be at least four more volumes of Ultimate Avengers.

The “Forever” line was touched on, but the numbers have not driven an expansion of the line. The line scratches a very specific niche, but it is one that will not be expanding too soon.
Never heard of scratching a niche before - an itch, yes.

Seriously, they really need to do at least one more: Hulk Forever, written by Peter David and picking up from where his first run on the book ended. The character hasn't been handled well since David left.

I was at this panel. The dude mentioned how disappointing Shadowland has been, how one-note DD is. Dude got some applause for this comment (from myself as well)--Brevoort seemed genuinely surprised. I guess Shadowland is doing very well with a lot of people.

My theory is that, generally, it's doing well with people that were not reading Daredevil before this. It's a standard crossover event that brings together a lot of popular and cult-favorite street-level heroes, so it's bringing in a lot of new readers to DD, I guess.

    Oh duh !

    Sorry I freaked.

Can't believe there are so many Avengers titles now. Thought Marvel was going to try to double their please with Ultimate New Avengers, Stealth Avengers, Pet Avengers, etc.

    Volume 4....of course

You know, I really liked Uncanny X-Men and New Mutants. Those titles made sense. But when Marvel exploded with X-titles, it just killed the vibe for me.

That's what I'm feeling with Avengers now and that's why I freaked.

Well, at least I've still got Ultimate Avengers.

Sad to hear about the sales for Age of Heroes #3 though I do wonder how they compare to the other issues sales.
