    Default Uncanny X-Men #527 (Spoilers)

The writing and art were disjointed, didn't flow and were just plain terrible.

Emma seemed to be more of a jerk than normal and was wandering around the whole issue for no apparent reason. Wolverine seemed out of character being pissed off during Second Coming about Kurt and now not blaming Cyclops. And this whole "Cyclops is awesome in wartime, but what about in peace time?" question is just worthless, boring, and not a compelling story whatsoever.

Matt Fraction, you need to put more effort into this garbage.

Is this the issue out today? I'm losing track.

I think so. I haven't read it yet, but I agree with the reviewer's assessment.

OK. It was a good review but I would have liked to have seen a mark out of 10.

This might not look like the greatest review ever, but really, it says it all. The overall plot of Five Lights wasn't mind blowing. They got their Mexican fast/vibrating kid. Emma got hit on by Tony and Namor a bit before repaying her favor to Kitty Pryde by using her telepathy to help her communicate with Colossus (why they didn't ask Xavier is a bit sad). Scott drank with Logan. Danger assured them she really, really had security covered this time. Sebastian Shaw laid prone, and Emma seems concerned about fessing up that she's holding him hostage.

Disjointed, and not so good is a fair assessment. I'll give Portacio's art being wonky in places, considering his physical condition. It really was more than adequate, if not mind blowing. But Fraction's Emma was all over the place. At least she wasn't being a matronly queen of mutants, and was getting her bitch on a bit. That's an improvement, at least.

I agree, the Cyclops in wartime vs. peace time thing that both Logan, and Emma were asking in two places was a topic that's clubbing readers over the head with a hammer.

Still, I'd go 5.5/10 (EDITED after consultation by JAU). Fraction is better than this.

I thought that he was already doing some recycling of previous storylines.

you are way too generous with your marking scheme. You say the book is bad and give it 6? Your paragraph of text suggested a 3 out of 10.

Who gives a damn how he rates it? We should actually create poll options for the review threads where people rate the issue themselves.

I was gonna go 5.5, but it seemed harsh. I don't want it to seem like I'm not happy that Emma isn't at least showing some level of chutzpah, or that the exchange between her and Kitty from Astonishing wasn't acknowledged. So, I went 6. Dr. Reyes really was a cypher, though, other than showing minimal medical knowledge, she seemed flat in terms of personality.

Okay, fine, you're right, JAU. 5.5 it is.
