I don't know if I've ever seen Ronan twirl his universal weapon (that's what its called right) like Thor's hammer. It just seems odd and out of place. I mean how does he do that. I don't recall there being a loop at the end of his hammer to do that.

That is a bit of a nonsensical scene that fits in quite nicely within Marvel's current non-canonical portrayal of characters.
