Eric Trautmann has been announced as the writer on Dynamite's new "Vampirella" series, joining artist Wagner Reis in detailing the new adventures of the classic vampire hero with J. Scott Campbell providing covers.

I have been so waiting for some kind of announcement on a new Vampi series. I can't wait. I'm not familiar with Trautman or Reis, but the Campbell cover is gorgeous. I will add this to my pull list. I was really hoping for Amanda Conner, but I guess we can't all get what we want.

Mostly I know Trautmann's work from his work on D.C.s Red Circle experiment the Shield (Cut all too soon) and the JSA VS Kobra Mini. Both of which were quite excellent.

How about forgetting everything which had happened during her stint at Harris and picking up where Warren left off?

The editors of Harris gave her a very messy origin story and even the best writers weren't able to clean up the mess Busiek had started.
