Default Should i pick up Brightest Day

AIGHT. hello, i was more of a newsarama poster but whatev. So after blackest night i decided to take a hiatus (possibly indefinite) from comics. blah blah, i lasted a couple months and bought all the Green Lantern issues i've missed today.

and i'm curious about brightest day...

how long is this gonna go? is it good? should i pick it up?

I wouldn't recommend it. It's very slow, and full of these cheesy, gorey death scenes. And I'm a huge fan of the characters that star in the book. I stayed for #7, where the revelations of why the characters came back to life were revealed, but it was still underwhelming. But it's just MO. Naturally, you might disagree.

and in my opinion, yes pick it up. It started off slow, but the good is getting real good.

Pick up Generation Lost instead, if you want to tap into the Brightest Day story.

It's far better (well, story wise...art wise, Brightest Day is a good bit better)

I was actually about to think about ditching this, but the last issue started to pick up steam. I have to admit, though, the most interesting bits in the book so far are Deadman's story and Aquaman's story.

I like it, last issue was great it was a slow build but it will have a good pay off I think, personally I think if you are on the fence just trade wait it and check out some reviews when it is over. I loved 52 but it started off slow as hell*.

*don't compare to 52 you will always be disapointed

I am liking it, true it started out slow but the past two issues have been moving along quite nicely.

I stopped reading after two issues, it seems pretty terrible. Sort of the worst things about the later part of Blackest Night, but continuously.

But I hated the end of Blackest Night, so if you liked that awful, heartless anticlimax, maybe you'll like Brightest Day.

If you like the current style of über-violent and dark comics that move along and a very slow pace, go get it.

I would give it a try, the story can be a bit choppy, but overall it's pretty fun. Pick up generation lost too if you can, it's always one of my favs.

Its ok, but I think it may read better as a trade.

With so many characters that dont interact with eachother (The Hawks, Firestorm, Aquaman, Deadman and Martian Manhunter) the pace seems very slow, especially given the fact that each issue has scenes dedicated to different plotlines. Still the latest issue is showing signs of the plot threads converging and possibly the pace picking up.

Oh and definitly check out Generation Lost, I'm guessing from your profile pic that you like Booster Gold, he's on top form in that title. Furthermore its the only title in years that has made Fire, Ice and Captain Atom cool again

I'm reading it, but if you're on the fence, I'd recommend trade-waiting.
