Rick Jones has appeared in pretty much all the Hulk-related 'toons (minus the direct-to-video stuff) but has been absent from all live-action adaptations (apart from a small mention in the sequel/reboot). We've had Ross, Betty, Talbot, Samson (Without powers), Leader(without powers) and Abomination show up from the Hulk's supporting cast. Hell, we even got Banner's Dad, although with a name change and superpowers.
Could AVENGERS be the oppurtunity to finally introduce the character into film? Rick played a large part in the Avenger's formation if I recall correctly (and would continue to appear in various Avengers sagas such as the Kree-Skrull War and Avengers Forever, as well as being the sidekick of Captain America for a bit). Of course we've come a long way from the Ham radio he used in those early issues, but the internet is a possibility, especially considering Banner used the 'net a lot in the sequel.
Granted, I know the movie's already packed, but there might be room for him. Just his normal human self though, no Captain Marvel/Rom/Hulk II/Abomination/Bucky stuff (for now).
If Rick somehow makes it though, who should play him?
Someone young, possibly, for the avengers, someone Banner formally knew as an old friend, and, if hulk is bad in the avengers, then someone the avengers go to for info or something, who helps them figure the whole thing out.
Make him a smart character, not really a super-hero, but like a member of the team of thinkers. I mean, they already dont have Pym or Jan, who were, besides Iron Man, the smartest guy and the most deductive woman, so it couldnt hurt to add someone like him. and pennington would be good
