Im also guessing the the big bad of Artifacts is Nick, the Devil.

I found it odd that in the splash page, there were thirteen people/artifacts there when it's been stated the the thirteenth artifact has yet to be revealed. Am I missing something?

And on the splash page, the ones who I didn't recognize (I'll admit that I'm not too familiar with the Top Cow Universe) is the woman holding a revolver and an M4 Carbine, the woman at the bottom left with what looks like a shield and the bald guy at the bottom right. And according to the interview about the Blood Sword that I read here, the Sword is in possession of Michael Finnegan, the bearer of the Glacier Stone.
Anyone know who those are?

The woman with the guns is most likely a character from Broken Trinity: Pandora's Box. We'd probably know who she was if that title would come out on a regular basis.(Come on, Top Cow. Two issues in 7 months? Really?) The Bloodsword won't remain in Finnegan's possession forever.(he's got one artifact already) That woman at bottom left is the Necromancer. And that's not a shield, its an overlay of the Ember stone. I don't know why it's there, Glorianna's already in the picture.

If you read issue #1 of the Darkness vol 3, you get the impression that the Darkness is kinda like the Devil. So does the Topcow universe have two Devil like characters?
The badguy could also be Morningstar from the Hunter-Killer series.

I am going on record as saying its Ken Irons, back from the dead again. It's been years since we've seen him and it did seem a pretty definite death, but he's come back before and it would make sense since the primary focus is Witchblade.

Yeah. I'm almost positive his son bit the dust already. Although this is comic books. He wasn't a major player in the Top Cow U although he was in Witchblade for a bit. I hope the big bad is Ken Irons though. It's been a long time coming for him to return.
