CBR News was on the scene to get the official word on the incidence of violence that broke out in Hall H and to catch a glimpse at the suspect who reportedly stabbed an attendee in the eye with a pen.

Have you ever been to a major comic con? People get nasty over seats and spots in line and stuff like that. I'm surprised this hasn't happened before.

They really need to start issuing passes for the various panels to control the 'homesteaders' and massive lines.

They would have to cut down on the number of the high-priced Hollywood panels all the non-comic fans go to see. Which means that all of a sudden they aren't selling out all 125,000 tickets.

I have to be honest and say that was my first thought, too.

After reading more of the article that was one of the panels I was going to attend. I stayed home today... seeing the lines for panels yesterday turned me off of even attempting them.

I saw a small child nearly get trampled and lost in the crowd. People just pushed the family sideways. I was walking around being polite and frackers were just shoving people around. If attendees wanna mosh, next year I'll bring my mosh attitude.

Penetrating wounds to the face are bad. Over a seat?

Probably not what you would think, considering that in his later life he turned his back on his earlier theories regarding comics and became much more sympathetic to them and their readers, even appearing at a number of comic conventions.

I understand CCI wanting to cater to both the comic fans and the Hollywood fans, but if stuff like this is starting to happen, it's not a good sign.

Brace yourself, by the time the sun rises over San Diego tomorrow, you will hear cries for the end of Comic-Con in San Diego at least.
