CBR: CCI: WB, DC Announce "Green Lantern" Video Game

Warner Bros. Interactive and DC Entertainment have announced that Hal Jordan will be getting the video game treatment in "Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters," which will be available Summer 2011

II don't think t's QUITE the first Green Lantern game as the press release implies.
Wasn't there a 16-bit Green Lantern video game? A top-down shooter for either the SNES or Genesis (or both?).

Seriusly Rocksteady should just be given the rights to make games for all DC characters

No seriusly WB should tripple Rocksteadys budget and have them be DC exclusive

I never understand why, when the idea for these types of games come up, no one says, "Hey, have you seen that Mass Effect 2? Holy !!!!!!! We need to contact those guys about making our (fill in the blank) superhero game." Or GTA, or Metal Gear, or Splinter Cell, or Prototype, or on and on. Why not ask the best developers to work on your best properties. I'll keep hope alive for this game, because I'm loving me some Geoff John's-verse GL, but this question always baffles me.
