So, basically these characters are VALIANT's Timewalker, Future Comics' Freemind, and Broadway Comics' Star Seed?

May sound ignorant when i say this; didnt think Lee would do anything for a non-marvel company. but all three of the characters look interesting, i think i might pick these up.

Definitely going to give each a first trade try.
Taskmaster: I'm so much better than you. You can't win. You have to die.
Moon Knight: Yes, kill me.... See if that works this time.

    Um, who?

No offense, but I've never heard of any of these characters -- and I doubt Stan Lee would be plagarizing them. In fact, my first thought when I read about Traveller was "Booster Gold without Rip Hunter" -- and I STILL think it's a great idea.

Looking forward to seeing these books.

    Sarcasm doesn't really translate, heh.

I wasn't suggesting that he plagirized them, just that they sound a lot a like.

My bad -- 'cos it doesn't. But at this point I think it's probably hard to come up with something that doesn't seem derivative.

No offense to Lee, but the truth is that you can't expect to come up with something new if you go to a well from which all the old ideas sprang from.

If you want to pull milkshakes from a well, don't go to the well that gives out water, go find a well that gives out milkshakes.

Even old ideas can be given a new twist that makes them appear new. Take Kirby for instance with Thor and the New Gods.

They are pretty much the same thing, yet Kirby made the New Gods distinctive enough to turn them into unique characters.

Right now, to me, these three characters all sound like "Thor". I don't see much distinction.

Shouldn't you actually wait before you jump to the conclusion that somehow Stan Lee's gone to the well once too often? All we've heard are broad claims about power sets and story setting; we've seen nothing concrete yet.

It would be like being 1970 and saying the New Gods can't possibly be good because they're derivative of Thor. *cough*

I'm excited for all three of these titles. I think the Traveler sounds like he has the neatest powerset so far, but Soldier Zero looks like it's going to be very interesting as well. Can't wait until October!

The Traveler and Starborn look cool. I'm not sure about Soldier Zero. I like the design though.
