Five Lights...Five 'Shards' of Phoenix. Connection or Coincidence?

Three Cuckoos saw the Phoenix Force leave their bodies. Rachel lost her connection to the Phoenix, as did Korvus. That's five people who lost a part of the Phoenix. Now Hope has returned and seems to have at least an affinity for the Phoenix Force. When the raptor first manifests itself ostensibly at least, In X-Men Second Coming #2, five new lights appear on Cerebro.

Yeah, but she also used the pf to turn on their powers. So the pf is the only thing that is keeping their powers active. So these mutants all most have a piece of the phoenix force within them.

Yeah, but she also used the pf to turn on their powers. So the pf is the only thing that is keeping their powers active. So these mutants all most have a piece of the phoenix force within them.

we dont know that the PF is keeping the powers active. Theres nothnig to suggest that they have the phoenix force at all. I think its way too early to even jump to that conclusion before the story even begins. Besides that would convolute things even more and make a bigger mess as a goal of the past few years has been to consolidate the phoenix fragments. Scattering them among a bunch of new mutants (and there will most likely be more) only complicates things even more. All these characters have the X-gene. That never went away. All Wanda did was mask it so that it could not be activated. Apparently the end of SC ended with the gene being unmasked, hence the phenotype of it being expressed

So if the x-gene is being unmasked now, then chances are that more mutants will start to reveal themselves and develop their powers. I think this whole x-gene is back shtick isn't all its cracked up to be. Theres a catch somewhere.
