I am still, after reading that, no way SOLD on his preposed story ideas or style of writing.
I bet this title will be an ART SHOWCASE of some sort. I want to be proven wrong by his writing but Killer Croc? C'mon.
"You can't trust them as poets either. The true poet is anonymous, as to his habits, but these boys have to look, act, and apparently smell like poets"
Flannery O'Connor on the beats.
This has to be one of the conditions of Finch signing exclusively with DC. He probably wanted to do a Batman book on his own.
Not being a huge fan of his over rendered art, I'm fine with this. He gets to play in his own corner, can be as late as he wants to be, and none of the books I actually care about get effected.
Finch drawing a batbook sounds awesome. Actually writing one i'm not so sure about. I guess I'll pick up the first issue at least before making my decision.
Here's hoping we see the line "His batarang..Advantageous!!" in the opening pages.
*crosses fingers*
I find it funny he uses Tony Daniel as a standard. Obviously he's the other Batman writer/artist, but his writing is pretty average.
But seems like he wants to put a lot of effort into it.
Do we really need a fifth regular Batman title out there? Or does this mean one of the others (Streets or B&R) will be ending? 5 regular titles plus all the minis that pop up seemingly every month seems like just a bit of overkill.
Will be a check out the first issue and decide deal for me. Like Finch's art.
Here's hoping that Finch brings back some of his Moon Knight flair to this title. Since he left that book his art just hasn't done it for me at all...

Great pencilson that page with Croc.
Good luck to Finch, but I'm not interested in his art. Maybe his writing will be okay, but I doubt I'll blind buy this until I hear some reviews from people I trust.
Don't worry.
