Heard about it an hour ago.. Sad news :(
RIP Harvey Pekar
Sad news. RIP Harvey, you will be remembered and beloved far more than you'd ever imagine.
Rest in Peace, Harvey Pekar.

Surprised at how sad this has made me. I remember reading the "Our Cancer Year" strips and being moved greatly.
His book "The Quitter" is one of the best biographical comics I've ever read.
RIP Harvey - you weren't a quitter at all.
Its too bad it was so late in his life that he was FINALLY recognized for his contributions to the comics industry. R.I.P. Harvey!
Wow. All these important figures in comics have been dying lately.
What a brilliant and innovative comics voice. He showed that the trials and tribulations of an ordinary man could be just as compelling and emotionally deep when translated into graphic form as with any other media. He will be missed! R.I.P.
My most heart felt condolences to Joyce and Danielle as well as Harvey’s many friends and collaborators.
Harvey: I loved the stories that you pulled from your life and from the lives of those around you. For all of your personal doubts, I always felt these stories showed a mind fully engaged and a life fully lived. I always felt grateful when I saw that a new comic, graphic novel, or, as it turned out, movie had arrived. I wish I had had the chance to meet you, but your work always left me feeling like I had.
Thank you and God bless.
The world is richer for having had him and poorer for having lost him. RIP and condolences to his family and friends.
I found out about this at work and I almost cried. Very few deaths can move me like that and his is one of them.

I just finished Pekar's story from Bizarro World before I saw this sad news. Harvey Pekar made some great comics and will be sorely missed.
