What do you think is the greatest Grant Morrison-created character?
For me it is Damian Wayne and Zauriel.
Super Young Team
International Ultramarine Corps
other DC character
Having a hard time deciding between Mr. Six and Mr. Nobody.
For me it's close between Mr. Nobody, Crazy Jane, and Damien Wayne. All of them are great.
And for sheer weirdness I love Red Jack, the Candlemaker, and Zauriel. And Prometheus was quite awesome.
Well god damn. Too many to count.
This kid. Damian.
"You can't trust them as poets either. The true poet is anonymous, as to his habits, but these boys have to look, act, and apparently smell like poets"
Flannery O'Connor on the beats.
That has got to be Crazy Jane.
Or Lord Fanny, if we go outside the DCU.
'The marquis. Well, you know, to be honest, he seems a little bit dodgy to me.'
'Mm,' she agreed. 'He's a little bit dodgy in the same way that rats are a little bit covered in fur."
In New X-Men, I think Dust and Cassandra Nova were both awesome creations.
Yes I know this is a DC thread.
In DC modern continuity?, Damian Wayne.
Elseworlds?, Flex Mentallo.
It's a tough call between Mister Nobody and Crazy Jane.
For DC, Leo Quintum!
For other endeavors...mmm...MASON FRIGGIN' LANG.
I rule me.
I voted for Damian, but I totally forgot about all the awesome Doom Patrol characters like Mr. Nobody and Crazy Jane. And then there's Zaruiel, waaaay cooler than Hawkman could ever hope to be(and with a much simpler background!). Prometheus, Leo Quintum, Manhatten Guardian(the REAL one, damnit), Dr. Hurt...
The sad thing is that most of Morrison's wonderful creations are never used again after he leaves them in the toybox(and if they are, they are misued. I'm looking at you James Robinson and Joss Whedon)
Can't decide! Too many great characters here. Crazy Jane, Damian, Zauriel, the Great Ten and Flex Mentallo are all up there, but I just don't know if you can even compare them all.
Action Comics, American Vampire, AV: Lord of Nightmares, Atomic Robo, Batman Inc, Batwoman, The Flash, Prophet, Uncanny X-Force
Mr. Nobody and Crazy Jane are being used quite nicely right now, actually.
One of the few great continuations of characters and concepts generated by Morrison, along with the Great 10 by Bedard, and Gerber's use of Zauriel in his Helmet of Fate one shot.
And, of course, lots of writers did a great job with the DC 1 Million concept, especially Ennis, Ostrander and DnA.
