Loving it...just absolutely loving it. Ive been looking forward to this particular issue for ages, with the return of Nathaniel, and the "college days" of Reed and Ben.

I'm REALLY anxious to see this and hope Hickman does my expectations justice. Nathaniel hasn't been seen or even (as far as I'm aware) in 14 YEARS since just after Heroes Reborn started, other than in SHIELD of course. I'm really excited to see him here, and I just hope that the characterization is accurate. Nathaniel cared, but he was always willing to do what was necessary no matter what others thought. I just want to see that reflected here

I know! I really rate Nathaniel..one of the most complex characters ive ever read. I really got how in "Nobody Gets Out Alive" he manipulated everyone, taking over from Doom in Latveria, sending Sue, Ben and Namor on a wild-goose chase..and dont forget all that stuff about who Kang was. Was he Reeds unknown half-brother, sired by Nathan during his future travels...I would love to know!! Sue has a particular loathing for him after he kidnapped Franklin to the future. Hes so deliciously ambivelant with his motives..he could almost be Dooms natural nemesis rather than Reed.

I am not overly familiar with the character but the art is awesome and Hickman has a great Handle on the Fantastic Four.

I wasn't liking Edwards work when he first started rotating with Eaglsham. This preview looks pretty good.

Nathaniel did pop up in the Marvel Knights 4 and it was a bittersweet reunion with his family. I can't remember the details but he decided to continue traveling the timestream instead of staying with Reed and Sue at the FF HQ.

Hickman seems to be writing a more caring, paternal version of Nathaniel, at least in the flashbacks he added at the beginning of his FF run.. This is how he started out when Byrne introduced the character. He was not the schemer that DeFalco turned him into...it was his 2nd wife Cassandra that was the devious one. We never did see that half brother of Reed's from the future.
"...Doom's enemies have not the mettle to challenge him host to host, tooth to nail... As economic and military options fail them, they resort to simple rudeness."

    1. Which issue of 4 did he show up in? I'm pretty sure I have them all and don't remember that. Curious to find it if I missed it.

    2. Yeah I remember when he was kind hearted. That's why I didn't mind how caring he was in Hickman's flashbacks, but I'm curious to see how he uses Nathaniel now and what he's been up to.

3.Everybody was teased as the half brother for a while there, right down to Kristoff. I thought I remembered the whole thing being settled on as a ruse by Nathan to manipulate people but I could be wrong

I'm not sure of the exact issue, but he was involved in the "Divine Time" storyline.

ugh... Hickman, the writer that almost drove me away from the FF. Here's hoping it's JUST this issue
