Huh.... I wonder what caused the name change.
Huh. Trademark issue?
Will Skeeter be in it?
Ohhhh, probably DC balked since it's a little too close to Global Guardians.

This just in, "The Order" in "Guarding the Globe" has now been renamed "The Orrderr" to avoid confusion with a bunch of dudes Marvel never uses.
This just in: Chris Sprouse has pulled out of Orson Scott Card.
Man i hope Marvel and DC didn't have anything to do with the name change. Guardians of the Globe was an great name for this comic.
If they had to change it because of Marvel or DC, they can suck it.
Odd...
I can only surmise that it's a trademark issue.
Guardians of the Galaxy, maybe?
I have no doubt that both Marvel and DC objected. Couldn't they have come up with a better name? Guarding the Globe sounds kind of bland and boring.
I suppose the title is an apt description of what they do.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
And either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives.
I am pretty disappointed in this name change. I will still get it, but I hope if they do end up with an ongoing at some point that they come up with a better title for the series.

It's a pretty lazy title change. I don't know if it will effect the book too much. It's got the Invincible connection and Kirkman so I think it will still do pretty well. But man there had to be a better title out there...
Shoddy reporting not to mention the REASON for the name change. Even if its to report that Image had no comment on the reason for the name change.
This isn't a report.
it's a PRESS RELEASE (says so right at the top in small text....) and if you missed seeing it at the top the way it's written and the fact that it closes with a little bio of bio/promo work for Image should make it clear.
I would be interested in seeing some follow up as to why they've changed the name (to be fair when Marvel had to change the name of the Champions to "the Order" they at least explained why (and it was reported why). i don't see any reason for Image to play it so coy. Unless there is honestly no legitimate need for them to change the name and they're desperately trying to drum up further publicity for this project.... just a thought.
