Summer Glau does the voice of Supergirl. Eh? Eh?

I really hate it when they add stuff to the BD that they don't put on the DVD. I'm not sold on BD enough to actually invest in it yet but those features on it sound cool. Maybe if BD cases weren't so damn small I might consider...OR maybe they could do a DVD/BD combo like Disney did with their Toy Story re-releases, that would be cool.

Awesome that Conroy and Daly ares back (I don't get why the mess around with other people voicing these two on the DC DTV movies, I've yet to hear ANYONE that stacks up...)

Two bad it's based on one of the most non-sensical stories I've ever read...

Not the greatest of stories, but it should at least transfer well to that whole DC action based animated style.

Plus you just can't go wrong with Conroy or Daly.

I personally am looking forward to the Green Arrow short.

I got a kick out of the Spectre one and think that these shorts are really nice little bonuses.

Why dont they release this stuff in theaters in a limited release?
DC has done so much with Animation that they should be pushing forward as the new leaders in animation and change the attitude people have of it.

Hell, DC, you can steal this one from me.
Have a "DC theaters" where you constantly run these movies.
Sort of what was done with B-movies and things like that back in the day.

I guess that they figure to make a better profit from direct to DVD without having to go through he hassle of making a couple of thousand prints.

But yeah, some of these would be really nice to see up on a big screen.

New Frontier comes to mind right off the bat.

Darkseid isn't in it that much, not enough to 'head' the guest cast. They haven't revealed Wonder Woman or Barda or Granny and the furies.

I do hope that Supergirl featurette isn't the one from the Smallville series 7 DVD, that would be cheap and lazy. I wonder what the Orion and Mister Miracle stuff is for, they aren't even in the film.

I didn't care for the Public Enemies storyline in comic book form, but I personally think it worked really well as an animated film.

And I agree - stick with Kevin Conroy and Tim Daly...the stunt casting with celebrities and tv actors just doesn't work. The one Baldwin brother was a horrible choice as Batman in that one movie.

(Although James Woods as Owlman was awesome)

    Thumbs up

This should translate well as a fun, entertaining popcorn flick. Big name actors can be pretty good voice-acting and the star power may help increase sales (I'm not sure about that) but I still prefer Daly / Conroy / traditional voice actors over them, in general.

The Public Enemies movie improved on the comic's absurd writing in many ways. The only thing I actually missed from the comic was the part where the Bat and Super families storm the White House.

I also thought Public Enemies fit nicely enough with JLU et all canon. After all, Luthor could have cleared his name by blaming mind-control, and Powergirl could have been Supergirl grown up. That obviously won't work with the new movie, but oh well.

Superman and Darkseid battling it out at the Sun could be really awesome to see. Hell, it was a good scene in the comic, only marred by unneccessary dialouge.

Andre Brauer is a great actor, but I'm skeptical of how he'll sound as Darkseid. My gut says they should have stuck with Michael Ironsides, or failing that, call Lance Henriksen.

What is it with Summer Glau and playing chick with powers?

Is anyone else slightly bothered that they're using the actual spelling for "Apocalypse"? :)

The Kara image on there gave it away most for me.
