    Thumbs up

The Mandarin is a ruthless maniac and he wants a biopic. Cool.

The previews all look great. Cap looks great as always. I thought Butch Guice was the new penciller? Mitch Brietweiser is pencilling this issue is news to me. Last issue Guice did all the art, but not all for this issue. I didn't think he was a slow artist.

    I can't wait for Secret Avengers 2.

I think they just wanted to keep the book on schedule. I've never thought Guice was particularly slow either but who knows. Mitch had been posting some pencils of odd panels of art featuring Bucky-Cap and Steve, which I naturally assumed was his work on the upcoming CA: Patriot series, then he tweeted that he was helping out with a book that was way behind schedule, which now obviously was Cap.

Some of the pages in the preview are obviously penciled by Guice as well though.

I don't think they are, I think he just has a heavy inking hand when he needs to, especially if they're trying to keep the book looking consistent. A fill-in is puzzling, but...there was a delay on 606, and this is putting them back on schedule. I think Guice is still the regular artist.

Anyway, Brietweiser has been really good for a while. I'm never upset to see his art— even though Guice was fantastic last issue.

Also, it looks like Iron Man: Kiss and Kill is coming out. I was wondering what happened to that. When is the story taking place? Pre Dark Reign? Or are we just meant to gloss over the old armor?

Okay, thanks man. It just struck me as odd at first that he would need a fill in so soon, but that makes sense. I also remember wondering what those panels were from that Mitch was posting. I'm just a fan of his work, and had to ask about it. Their styles do match well though.

Quite possibly, I just think its as obvious as night and day to me which pages were penciled by Mitch and which were penciled by Guice, as I'm a big fan of both. I could be wrong, but two of those pages are almost certainly penciled by Butch, who uses much tighter lines.

I've no doubt that Guice is still going to pencil the majority of the arc, I just think he needs mini breathers once in a while to keep him going. Its not like Cap under Brubaker hasn't been about an ensemble of great artists anyway, I think its one of the amazing things about the series.

Here ya go, following artists on twitter sometimes bears some fruit, you often get some decent WIP pics, which is cool if you're fascinated by artist's methods like myself.

I'm both excited and uneasy about Invincible Iron Man Annual #1. Excited to see what's in store, uneasy whether Fraction will damage the great direction the Mandarin took in Haunted.

Not sure about Iron Man: Kiss and Kill. Armor stolen? Man, I haven't read that before. Infiltrating the Hellfire Club sounds interesting, however.

Death of Dracula looks pretty crappy, sounds pretty crappy too. It's just Vampire the Masquerade transplanted into the Marvel U.

About time that the second to last issue of the previous volume of Astonishing X-Men hit.

The long delay just killed the momentum of the book. But the preview looks good. Love the confrontation between Beast and Cyclops. Which is another reason this should have came out months ago, it added more legitimacy to Hank leaving the X-Men. Things have clearly been building to that.

X-Men Forever is looking pretty good also. Love the cover. And the X-Men arn't D-Bags. Best X-Book on the market.
