I always find it interesting when some aspect of the differences between the American market and the rest of the world is discussed. Humanoids has such a wonderful library with lots of great creators and yet...

It's probably because an American audience is used to being pandered to. You have corporations who churn out marketable stuff, aimed at appealing to as large an audience as possible.

Now European publisher try to appeal to large audiences as well, but the difference is that European publishers are smaller and more diverse as far as their titles go, and the comics that are published are usually very personal, they're tied to the creators.
Even when they produce spin offs, the original writer, or artist, has a say in what comes next. They usually give their blessing to the person who's taking over.

The American market pretty much collapsed in on itself, and now the majority of stuff being published is superhero comics, because that is what sells. It's an incestuous market.

The European market is a lot more open, with a lot more diversity.

No matter how succesful a series gets to be in Europe, it will never sell in America, because there isn't a market for it in America, because it's not a superhero comic that goes on indefinately.

It isn't helped by the fact that the ultra-commercial nature of the American market, censors the living shit out of European comics... because if it isn't censored, it no longer appeals to the largest audience.
I went and made a webcomic...

Not one part of that statement isn't true. Nothing proves it more than the fact this very lengthy interview, featuring world class talent only has a handful of comments.

Handful comments doesnt mean that many of us even outside US like me in Sweden isnt delighted by this news. English translations is my only choice for great european comics since we dont speak french.

I have many Humanoids books at home and had wished news like this.

Although what do they mean about Bouncer realese ? I did read one of the books they realesed before. I thought it was a stand alone GN.

Sigh...I've been hoping for Red Hand to be released in English. It was so frustrating not being able to understand the story skimming through the European editions. I guess I may have to pick those up anyway.
Wake me up when it's over...
