Default CBR: Krul Takes Aim at "Green Arrow"

JT Krul spoke with CBR about the launch of his new ongoing "Green Arrow" series, stripping the hero of his friends and family and redefining Oliver Queen's place in his hometown of Star City and the entire DCU.

His ideas sound interesting, but I really hated the way they stripped the marriage away from him and Dinah.
Anyone who thinks DC is bringing back the Silver Age doesn't know what the Silver Age is.

There is no such word as "persay," it's per se, two words, from the Latin.

I'm glad Krul and DC were able to restrain themselves and only show an attempted rape.

I'm still reeling at the fact that any Arrow fan can enjoy what's going on right now.

Also, this should have been Connor's turn to take up the mantle.

Surprised that no one mentioned the huge negative fan reaction to the Rise and Fall storyline and the poor sales.

Slapping the Brightest Day banner on GA will not get me to buy this one.

    Default Green Arrow is Back!

Krul is fast becoming one of my new favorite writers. Even his last name is cool. He should add one more L to the end of it.

I'm excited to see his take on Ollie, what secrets the Star City Forrest hides and who this mysterious villianess "The Queen" is and what she has instore for our hero.

Ollie has always been the most Human of DC's heroes. He isn't a Pillar of Moral Fortatude like Superman; he isn't cold and emotionless like Batman; he has many of the same faults that we do. He is quick to anger, rash in judgement and doesn't often learn from his mistakes. Plus, he's something of a horn-dog. He's not a perfect hero, which is something many many people have forgotten.

This new ongoing could turn out to be an interesting take but the way the character has been handled in the last few months has left a sour taste in my mouth. Not exactly auspicious for a new beginning.

It's very rare of DC to even react to Negative news. I mean remember how they "Reacted" to the response of Cry for Justice ?

I love their reasoning; "the fact that we provoked a reaction means the story worked."

If they were out to provoke sheer disgust, dude, they did their job. Ian Sattler is my favourite patsy.
