anyway, japeth is a favorite of mine.

i would have liked to have seen him come back via sinister rather than what happened in necrosha but hey, i'll take what i can get. at least him possibly being out there still means he could get used again.

I performed a search and consulted justinkos and found no such thread.

I agree that it would have been fun to see him come back with Sinister. I want Miss Sinister to form her own Marauders from the samples Sinister collected in Weapon X. Washout and Maggott could be members.

What really impressed me about Maggott was that even when his beloved elder journalist brother was murdered by racist white soldiers of the Apartheid regime, he still didn't hate them at all and even tried to stop Magneto (and even chastised him) from slaughtering them. His transcendent ability to forgive is on the same level of Everett Thomas and reminds me of Jesus Christ and Himura Kenshin.

The only thing I didn't like were his slugs names, he should have just called them R and L instead...

And I always thought that he was not completely dead, because one of his slugs still survived, even when he had already supposedly been executed, and it was canon that all 3 of them should have died at the same time if even one of them died.

Taking also into consideration the fact that it was mentioned by Psylocke when she first encountered him that his consciousness was dispersed among the 3 of them, so I was thinking that the reason why he still bothered to keep one of his slugs with him, instead of giving both of them away (which I think he would have done if he knew that he was really going to die, and since he obviously wouldn't want of them to die) was so that by keeping the other slug inside his main body, he could still keep it alive, though on a barely-detectible dormant level, and so ripe for revival when the opportunity presented itself.

Finally, I always though the X-men with extreme physical mutations would go well together in a team: Maggott, Skin, Wraith, Peepers, Marrow, Stacy-X.

Yes, but in the end, the slug ended up with Sinister, I think.

There was an issue of Uncanny X-Men from 1998 where the X-Men fought a brainwashed Alpha Flight while Wolverine tried to transport a depowered Sauron. It was the first time I had ever heard of or read Maggott, and he was awesome! Instead of fighting he just flirted with Murmur, and said the great line to Eany and Meany: "Just circle till we find out what she can do, then I'll snack on her after." Unfortunately, he got suckerpunched by Sasquatch (not the Walter Langkowski version) and was out for the rest of the issue. But he was a really cool character and does deserve to come back.

If Maggott would have made it to House of M, he surely would have been depowered. What would have happened to him and his slugs if he would have been depowered that day?

he probably would have died- the slugs were his digestive system, after all.

or maybe he would have been put in a stasis tube by the x-men like chamber was and shipped off to rot in a hospital somewhere.
