He will still be staying on as E-i-C, though?

I actually think this is pretty good news. Having Joe-Q to coordinate all things Marvel Movie and Animation should help maintain consistency, at least.

Hopefully, Mr Quesada will be in a position to ensure that Marvel characters are depicted faithfully and respectfully in other mediums such as film, cartoons e.t.c (translation, i hope Mr Quesade can do something to ensure that movies and cartoons based on Marvel characters don't suck!).

    Agreed.

I like what Quesada's done, so I'm happy with this.

I think this has pretty much been his job for the last year or so. Now, he just has a title.

    i think this is good...
Is it Marvel/DCs fault that you love buying the books? or is it your fault for having to show restraint in buying books?

Wow. I usually try to look at the bright side of things. But aside from this, I can't think of any. Part of me is even frustrated b/c I don't want consistent missing-the-mark. I'm still boycotting Spidey for the dumb "People don't read it b/c he's married" mentality.
I've got a great idea. How about we keep blaming the other party. Yeah. That's healthy.

It doesn't sound like his role expanded that much, regardless, congratulations Mr. Quesada!

Joe sure has come a long way from signing copies of Ash at an athletic club in nearby Buena Park. He deserves a strong pat on the back.

Now, all he needs to do is BRING BACK FREAKIN' JACK OF HEARTS!!!

I guess Marvel has really gone Hollywood. Because in Hollywood you usualy fail onward.

Quesada has been a destructive force at Marvel kicking the Marvel library like a pimp does to a hooker.

No creativity and imagination. Lack of foresight to where the company should be. And he's the kind of guy that doesn't mind if the face of Nick Fury is Sam Jackson for a whole generation. That Gwen Stacy went to town with the Green Goblin.

I wish the creative force behind Marvel was someone that truly respected what Stan Lee has created. Like late editor Mark Gruenwald. Quesada is more of the school of Dark Knight Returns and all this grim and gritty stuff. No respect for anything. Espect underwhelming books(let's face it they've stopped trying for quite sometime) and wrongly presented movies afoot in the near futur.

I certainly think Quesada is deserving of this promotion since he's done so much over his tenure to bring Marvel back from the brink of bankruptcy, but I'm not sure about him being part of the animation department. What does that mean for guys like Avi Avad or Greg Johnson? Will these new responsibilities divert him from his EIC duties to a point where they'll have to promote someone to pick up the slack? Tom Breevort maybe? It's exciting for Quesda, but I have a feeling this is going to affect the comics in some way. We may not see it immediately, but it's bound to become apparent sooner rather than later.
