And I never quite understood that. "Oh, it's fine that each one of these killers was already a member of the X-Men or their support networks. But putting them all together on the same team specifically to kill people? That's right out!"

The Sentry and Jessica Drew are totally over rated.

Wolverine should NOT be an Avenger.

    The Wasp is exceptionally dull.

I'm not familiar with how many times the issue around Wanda's kids has been retconned (I've heard it might be a lot) but Wiccan and Speed are two of the greatest characters to hit Avengers history in a long long time. I hope they prove to be her actual children, however its explained.

'Red Zone' was one of the better story arcs, under one of the better artists (Coipel) to grace an Avenger title. Great character beats.

Hawkeye is probably the hottest of the Avengers men.

Cloud 9 is the best character to come out of the Initiative.

Because Beast is a hero. Heroes don't kill. When Wolvie or others are on an X-Team they are tempered by the rest of the team and kept in check so they aren't killing all the time. X-Force was put together to go out and kill. That goes against Beast's (and my) idea of what heroes should do.

Most of these opinions aren't controversial and have been shared by a majority of people in comicdom (or at least those on cbr, newsarama, and related sites).

    Wanda is the absolute worst.

Spider-Man TOTALLY deserves to be an avenger.

    Vision sucks.

    Steve Rogers is overrated
    RIP Spider-Man

This would be a much more sound argument if X-Force was sent after loser supervillians like the Blob or Unus the Untouchable, and not literal baby-killers like the Purifiers, Bation, and Selene. Beast acts as if X-Force was out there killing willy-nilly.

The point is that they are going out with the purpose of killing... which goes against his definition of what heroes do. It doesn't matter who they are killing.

Also, the fact that Scott kept the group secret not only from outsiders, not only from newcomers among the X-Men, but even from original classmates like Hank itself, may have rankled a bit. But basically, it was the killing with full approval of the team leader thing that was the big issue, and the secrecy was because Scott knew if he ran it by Hank and Warren and Bobby et al, they would have shot the idea down in a heartbeat.

..you mean Warren who is on the team? And Iceman whose general opinion of Hank's issues with Scott were "Get over it Hank?"

Good point... maybe I was thinking of Warren and Bobby and not the Space Phantoms that have recently replaced them. ;-)

    I also agree.

Another controversial opinion: they should kill every Avengers and cancel the books until Bendis leave.
Kurt Busiek Says:"Best Avengers Run, Steve Englehart's run in the 1970s. With Roy Thomas's run that preceded it close behind, and the Conway/Shooter/Michelinie run that followed close behind that

Sure. You can put Pym and Wanda in there too.

Tony Stark needs to shave his moustache/goatee/whatever. Well, once in some while.

They sometimes do but probably never should, I agree.

It's one of their defining tenants, not just a "Cap rule."
I didn't know the Avengers were landlords. I'd have imagined not pursuing commercial gain, even through renting out their real estate, would be (a very minor one) of their tenets.
