My controversial opinion... even after the Captain America and Thor movies debut, Iron Man will still be the most popular out of the big three in terms of the mainstream audience.

Plus most heroes are American in general, so proportionally, it works.
No, I'm afraid I disagree, it's a disproportionally North American roster for the "Earth's Heroes".

The Avengers has 5 North-Americans, one Canadian, an inter-dimensional Kree, and an Asgardian, run by a North American.

New Avengers has 8 North Americans and the same Canadian.

Secret Avengers has 6 North-Americans, an Asgardian, and a Russian.

The fact they also nearly all live in New York is also a bit ridiculous, especially when they Quinjet all over the world without regard to Jurisdiction. I didn't mind it so much when the Avengers were under the auspices of the U.N.

Eh, I'm used to it, it's just not very realistic( I know, I know, it's a comic). Unless they have plans to have a lot of Avengers funding in debt to China Force.

I actually do agree, that a little more international flavor in the MU and especially the Avengers would be a worthwhile endeavor. Personally, I would have loved if at least one of the Avengers teams was set up as a global entity with heroes from various nations and set up exclusively to handle global crisis.

But then again, I am also DYING for someone in Marvel to get the bright idea of Dr. Doom having a super human or team of super humans working within Latveria just for him.

I liked Doctor Druid, Rage, and Gilgamesh as Avengers.

Randomly choosing a recent post because I feel like arguing... :)

    Agreed

-The Big 3 are overrated. (I love Iron Man and Cap...But gimme a break!)
Not at all. The big 3 are the core of the team. I don't mind them not always being on the team but it has been long enough that a reunion was due.

-All the New, Young, and Mighty Avengers teams didn't get to attack The Void on the last issue of Siege. Which was a big FAIL!
The Sentry/Void were terrible ever since New Avengers #1. As long as they are dead, I don't care how it happened.

-Hawkeye and Mockingbird are getting too much attention!
WRONG! They are FINALLY getting the attention they deserve (though I have reservations about the way Hawkeye is going to be depicted in the new series)!

-Bendis needs to hurry and write Ms. Marvel and Spider-man's realtionship
    !

Oh, god no. What a mistake that would be. Leave any possible romantic relationships for Spidey in the hands of the Spidey writers. That issue with Spidey and Ms. Marvel was just awkwardly random.

-Loki as Scarlet Witch was the best idea ever during Dark Reign!
It was pretty solid (though coming right after The Skrull thing made it seem a little repetitive)

-The Avengers need more MU characters (Tired of seeing the regulars.)
Eh... Avengers can always use new blood, but it needs a certain number of familiar characters to make it still seem like the Avengers. Change should be organic not contrived.

    -The Avengers need more Blacks.
No argument there. Rather than saying more blacks, I would say more diversity (real world diversity - Asgardians and green people don't count).

-Falcon is just a joke character.
Not at all. Why would you even think that?

-Civil War was too damn complicated (that's why i dropped it during that crossover)
Complicated? Not at all. It wasn't great but it wasn't due to it being complicated.

-Spider-man/Wolverine needs to choose a team or sit down somewhere!
I have no problem with a character serving on two different Avengers teams. Wolverine being on both the Avengers and the X-Men makes zero sense, however.

-Spider-Woman finally got to redeem herself during Dark Reign/Siege.
    No redemption needed.

-Scarlet Witch/She-Hulk is best female Avengers during the 90's!

The 90's were the worst decade for Marvel comics since the creation of Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four, so that is a hard one to comment on. I will say that I think Scarlet Witch is a terrible character and always has been. Her powers are WAY to much of a deus ex machina. That is the same reason Dr. Strange has never really worked in a team setting.

-The Hood storyline went on too long!
    Agreed

-The first Avengers are titled "Old School"
    What?

-Bucky was the best idea for being Cap after Steve died.
Mmmmm.... no, but close. The dealt with giving the shield to Clint, who would have been a great choice. Bucky isn't a bad choice, though (though I would have LOVED seeing them give it to the American Eagle).

Of course, Steve isn't dead any more so he should go back to being Captain America. Having said THAT, I have loved his new persona so far, post-Siege.

-Red Hulk should have joined the ranks of Avengers.

That would imply that Red Hulk should exist... which he shouldn't. Dumb, dumb, DUMB character.

-Lack of females on each team! (this is current)
I agree in principle, but I would rather not have more female characters for artists like Deodato to draw. His style of art really annoys me.

    - There's no such thing as 'classic Avengers'
    I agree with this.

I think Steve Rogers is a mary-sue. He's just a peak human and he continually takes out people with actual powers.

Oh, and Wolverine should leave the X-men and just be an Avenger.

Didn't the Super-Soldier Serum push Steve some way beyond peak human?

I agree with the second part; a Wolverine hiatus would as good for the X-men, as would be believable for the Avengers.

Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne should work everything out and get re-married.

I don't think he is way beyond human. Marvel lists him as a peak human. That's pretty much it.

-Bendis, regardless of your opinion, has made Avengers THE Marvel franchise.

-If half the people on here had their way, we would continually read the SAME Avengers stories over and over again.

-Secret Invasion was good....i mean....what else did people really expect to happen?

You're right of course, I just didn't know what else to put, US citizen doesn't take birth-nationality into account, American is worse than North American, I'm so confused, sorry If I gave offence.

He's gone beyond that in actual comics before though, a comment about seeing bullets to dodge them comes to mind.
