Because, much like Sam or Roberto -- at the very least Amara's ability to fly has in some part a plausable basis to work with. James has what?!? He and his late brother is/was pretty much the "Apache Chief" (sans the Pym particles) of the Mutantverse. Cruel? Yes But true!

Warpath flying is just as plausible as Northstar or M flying.

Im sure this is just her second mutation
She always had the potential to fly

Hell Im sure everyone will gain secondary mutations down the line as well.

If I'm not mistaken it was the previous issue of Legacy, meaning the same creative team was behind it.

Magma jumped out of the plane in Uncanny and Dodson depicted her as falling/flying. Land then continued to display her flying while battling the Smilies.

It just proves that Carey/Land are for Magma flying.

If there's one thing I have to give the writers, editors, and everyone else dedicated to the art of comicbook entertainment (Marvel, DC, Malibu, Image, et cetera...) total props for is that they usually (until as of late see: Warpath) go all out to try and provide a explanation as to how and why their characters powers work.

    plau·si·ble: (plôz-bl)adj.
    1. Seemingly or apparently valid, likely, or acceptable; credible: a plausible excuse.
    2. Giving a deceptive impression of truth or reliability.

there was little plausible about Warpath flying. Another WTF moment when he all of a sudden did. Im glad all writers sinve have chosen to ignore it. At least it was explained why and how it happened, as opposed to Magma

    Agreed this should be explained.

For the "No Prize" Amara allows Anna Marie to absorb her abilities in order to teach her to fly much like a hot air balloon in-conjunction with tightly controlled Lava projection for thrust?

Plenty of fire based mutants are able to fly by manipulating heat, I don't see why she shouldn't be allowed to fly.

She turns into living lava, it's not all that impossible for it to happen.

However, if there's some reason why she shouldn't, then so be it.

Now Warpath. There's no real logic there with him.

It was explaned that when the High Evolutionary shut down and reacctivated all the mutants powers, it rebooted the genetic potential of them. This allowed some to access part sof their mutations, they were previously unaware of. Warpath up to this point had limited himself to the abilities that his brother used, but soon found out that he also had the abilitty to fly which he developed and used after training under Wisdom. Not the best reasoning, but at least he was given up.

When Magma flies, it is a triumph of the human spirit.
