Man, I remember 'Sorcerer'. It was in the rotation on HBO way back when they were getting started because it was (probably) cheap. I have a terrible memory and I'd see 'Sorcerer' in the listings and think 'Wow, a fantasy film I've somehow missed?! How could this b- oh dammit wait, it's that movie about the damn trucks. Whatever'.

Haven't read it yet (it's on my dining room table) but looking forward to it.

You know, I think Eisner would have approved of the Google logo made into a Pac-Man maze...

I missed a Harlan comic. Man, I suck.

I will be picking it up on the rebound. I havent been this excited to read a short story since his Dream Corridor series was collected into volumes.

Classic Harlan. Success in life summed up in one sentence! That Genius S.O.B...he has no right to having so much talent.

    I'm game!

I'm the only person who genuinely enjoyed the hell out of that movie, aren't I?

It broke some rules of the comic for the sake of the realities of filmmaking, but c'mon, that was fun, swoony, crisp stuff going on there! Plus, it's (a) better than earlier takes, (b) thankfully lacking in Ebony, and (c) had some visuals that demanded attention.

As he's a fan of Will Eisner, would Harlan consider writing a Sheena, Queen of the Jungle comic?

I contributed to a website on literally everything Sheena but it's being updated right now. Rare photos and videoclips. www.terrororstralis.com/sheena.htm

    Thumbs up

Harlan should write more comics. Hell, how is it he hasn't written more given his well-known affinity for the medium and his past efforts in the same? It's a pity he's not exactly in his prime. How old is he? 75?

I'm actually more interested in the Kyle Baker art on this than Ellison writing...

Ellison, for all his foibles, is totally right about SORCERER.

Yes... Harlan is right. Sorcerer is Friedkin's best film. Some apparently did not like the way he began with subtitles and with separate stories to explain how each man wound up in the prison. Also, the Tangerine Dream soundtrack had an overture before the curtains opened which might have irritated some.
