Legacy is ending with issue #50. What more do you want?

Dark Horse made the official word back in late April on their official website.

But Dark Horse Comics editor Randy Stradley had this to say:
Suffice to say, we're not thrilled about having to end the series, and I would be remiss if I did not assure you that the decision in no way reflects on the efforts of the regular creative team of John Ostrander, Jan Duursema, Dan Parsons, Brad Anderson, and Michael Heisler, nor on the work of any of the other talented artists whose work has graced the pages of the book over these past four years. John, Jan, and the others are not, by any means, out of work.

No door closes without another opening, and to those longtime readers who pointed out that it was not likely that I would end Legacy without having some replacement planned, I thank you for your confidence. Trust me, it will be rewarded.

I am not going to compound the mistake of the early announcement of Legacy's end by rushing to tell you what is coming next. That information will be revealed in the fullness of time. So, take heart, and feel free to speculate on what the future holds. Just don't get too invested in your speculations because, I guarantee, you wont guess what's coming next
    Emphasis mine...

Originally appearing as a weekly web comic written by BioWare's Robert Chestney and illustrated by artist Alex Sanchez, "Star Wars: The Old Republic - The Threat of Peace" is the first arc in the prequel miniseries taking place 10 years prior to the start of the game and featuring a number of characters, places and events all tying into the MMO. The comic finally sees the printed page this summer
So the new mini is a re-print of the webcomic that was(is?) on the SWTOR site then? The one that was already available for free?

    more pre, prequel stuff.

By the time they come to realize there is zero demand for Episode 3 and the prequels, the live action TV series will be rewritten for this setting and made in the style of Lost in 3-D. Originally Lucas was gunning for a modern BSGalactica feel. Whatever is "hot" floats with LFL.

Yes. In fact, last time I checked, the comics were still up for free.

I enjoyed KOTOR and will probably get this book in trade paperback if I can find it cheap enough at a con.

Personally, my bet is that the "Legacy-era" will continue, but in a new direction probably borne out of events in issue #50. Legacy itself could be looked at (in hindsight) as an Episode of this timeframe, IMO...

I'm happy to have the webcomics collected in some sort of hardcopy form.

I was really close to picking up Legacy since I heard such great things about it on this forum when I read that it was being cancelled. Until I hear more about what they intend to do after issue 50 I am holding off. I wanted to get a Dark Horse title on my pull list and now I'm not sure if I will or not.

Just because they're ending Legacy is no reason not to give the book a shot. It is very good.

By the time you've finished reading all the back issues, they might even announce what is coming next....

No doubt, but I was looking for an ongoing. If they announce a continuation of the series under a different title, with the goal of just rebooting the numbers to avoid scaring new readers then I will hop on and get as many back issues as I can. I will have to wait and see I guess.
