Wallace Wells is based upon Chris Butcher, founder of TCAF and manager of the beguiling in Toronto. I've heard it remarked that Hope Larson is kinda Ramona, as an American who our hero/author falls in love with (though it seems a stretch). Michael Comeau (the guy who knows everyone at the party in book 1) is based on the real michael comeau. (So it's mildly disengeous to say only 2 characters have real world analogues).
