I love how it seems like both of Lemire's DC works are polar opposites in how they're going to be published:
The Atom's going to start as a one-shot special, and will then continue as a co-feature in Adventure Comics.
The Superboy series is going to start as a one-off co-feature in Action Comics, which will lead directly do his on-going series.
Kinda funny the way it turned out.
Also glad that he's keeping Krypto around--all that he's planning on doing sounds really interesting, and I love that he's going to be pushing Conner forward as a character, and building up his mythos and supporting cast.
Surprising that they asked him about Choi. I can see his point about wanting to build up Ray as a character, and giving him a more definitive run--still think they could have done that without killing off Ryan, though. He could have at least been a supporting character, or you could have just wrote him off as taking a brief leave or something. Oh well--I'm sure Lemire's story will be interesting at least.
I can't wait for this series to start! Lemire is an awesome writer, if you haven't already read it, go pickup the complete "Essex County" collection right now. I think he's perfectly suited for this book.
Oh and I like the black t-shirt and jeans costume.![]()
hm... i've never really followed connor closely or consistently, but the way jeff talks about this has me very intrigued. i may have to pick this up.
i'm looking forward to a Superboy ongoing, I liked the kid when he first showed up in Reign of the Supermen and then I did follow his 1st series for the first few months before dropping because of monetary reasons, and then picking up again issue 70 onward, plus his YJ appearances and Teen Titans, so I'm looking forward to seeing him on a regular basis, hopefully he will also interact with Superman. Should be interesting his dealing with Pete Ross. I know Pete found out about Clark being Superman, does that still stand post Infinite Crisis?
I'll give it a try. Lemire sounds a like a good writer.
Top 3: Batman, Wonder Woman, X-force
I'll definitely check out the book. The buzz on the internet has been very positive plus he was handpicked by Johns. It sounds like he will continue with the same characters plus it will be take place in Smallville. I loved the Superboy in Adventure story by Johns. I thought it was one of his best stories ever.
Excited for this. Heard plenty of good things about his Vertigo stuff, so the Superboy on-going is a must buy for me.
I haven't read anything by Lemire, but Conner is a favorite character of mine, so I'm down for the series.
This sounds good so hopefully it will be a great read. I look forward to this.
"With Knowledge we built a city to rival heaven."
I'm catching up on Sweet Tooth now, and it's amazing. i can't wait for this title!
I'm also looking forward to the Action Comics-Lex Luthor run.
Should be interesting in the Superman Family for the next year or so.
We'll see...
This run sounds awesome. I can't miss it.
"You can't trust them as poets either. The true poet is anonymous, as to his habits, but these boys have to look, act, and apparently smell like poets"
Flannery O'Connor on the beats.
I'm not a huge Superboy fan, but I'll probably get this anyway. I hope it's good.
What I'm most excited about, aside from the fact that the majority of the stories will run for one or two issues, is that Ray Palmer is already scripted for an appearance! More Atom by Lemire? Yes, please!
Locke & Key, Saga, Thief of Thieves
