Since the other Cap's have an appreciation thread, how about the thread for one of the biggest jerks to try and fill Cap's boots?
A lot of the USAgent stories are being reprinted this next year in TPB form, so we have that to look forward to.
Any other fans of the character?
I'd just like everyone to know that not only am I dropping Marvel, I'm dropping this forum considering I'm not even allowed to voice a negative opinion because a thread "isn't about me".
I like the character but feel he hasnt been written well for a while.
Many writers just use him as a carricature instead of as a real character. Which is why when a writer gets him right, I know I am in for a good story.
He was suspended in stiff-animation for about 65% of the Darker than Scarlet WCA arc.
This dude needs to be Buckified quickly and get some cool cyber appendages so he go back to hopping around and throwing his shield.
Then he needs to be part of the Special Force Avengers who are like X-force and they kill people.
What has he been up to lately? He was one of my favorites during his AWC time. I bought his time as Cap in back issues and enjoyed the character even more. Too bad they don't do more with him.
Actually ever since getting injured during the Siege of Asgard he is very much "Buckified" with robotic apendages. However, he is confined to a wheelchair.
I'm a huge fan of the character and was disappointed that the Omega Flight series went from an on-going to a mini. Then I was excited when he was chosen for Dan Slott's Mighty Avengers. A shame the series didn't last very long. Right now he makes cameos in Thunderbolts
Amazing Spider-man, Avengers (Reg, New, Secret, Academy), Uncanny X-Men, X-Men Legacy, X-Factor, X-Force, Captain America,Thunderbolts, Thor, Batman & Robin, Brightest Day, Green Lantern, The Flash
actually, he refused cyborgification because a) that kind of money isn't spent on regular soldiers and b) because it would make him like the guy (Nuke) who cut his limbs off.

yeah. this is the guy that was a diehard Osborn fan. they seriously need to make a more Avengers-centric Freedom Force and have USAgent and G.I.Ant-Man as members. it'd be an opportunity for them to embrace their buffoonery.
p.s. that reminds me. since he is an Osborn fan maybe John should be the next Iron Patriot. wearing a powered armor wouldn't make him a cyborg. so he wouldn't be breaking any personal code.

I'm not sure that's true. Osborne's a Spider-villain. It's not like John -- or anyone -- ever had any reason to ever hear of this guy before the TBolts. And if that's where John learned about him, I could see him liking him. It was part of the problem with Dark Reign -- we were supposed to accept that Osborne was enough to make Hawkeye want to assassinate him even thought he wasn't doing anything most of the heroes even knew about. It was ludicrous.
If I can, at some point I'll scan the US Agent fight scene from Thunderbolts #147, and you will all see how badass this character is shown to be right now. I for one, like him as the Raft governor. He gets to show up in Thunderbolts, it fits his character, and other people get to use him if they want to use the Raft (though for some reason, they all prefer to use MACH V instead).
