I am almost afraid to read the article...I just know it is going to piss me off.
Since when do Deathstroke (And the other so called "Titans") need to prove that they're Dangerous?
Seriously. Ryan did not need to die for this.
If they were really trying to show us how hardcore the team is, they should follow through with killing Lex Luthor. THAT would be impressive. THAT would be a major upset to the status quo. Whacking a legacy character to make room for his earlier incarnation? Eh. I'm sure even the lowest guy on the villain totem pole could claim to have done the same. You're slipping, 'Stroke.
Yeah, because it takes 5 super villains to beat up and kill a college professor whose powers is the ability to shrink. That is really, truly bad ass.
ANd they inovation of this comic! Killing of super heroes to show how badass a villain is. Why, they haven't used that since Cry for Justice!
They always say this after killing off a character.Let me also add that this decision concerning Ryan's death was not made lightly. Everyone at DC respects the character of Ryan Choi and always will. I myself was a big fan of the character, so it made his demise a particularly emotional scene for me to write.
Bet he never even read the All New Atom series.
I'm not buying it, this smells of "well we have the REAL Atom back, so we don't need this filthy new character."
"but the 616 is set in America."

Damage control at its most transparent. "There's totally a reason for this!" = "Please buy this fiery sinking boat of a series!" No thanks. I think there's something to be said for not running a company in a manner where your readers are constantly terrified that you're going to kill off any characters that don't become popular enough by some invisible, arbitrary standard. Or by any standard, really.
:whistles; walks away, hands in pockets:"The new direction for 'Titans' was done to give the fans something fresh and exciting."
"'Kirby got a shitty contract too, so get over it' isn't a great tagline."

I think it's a little unfair to assume that level of duplicity in a writer you know next to nothing about.Bet he never even read the All New Atom series.
all new characters end up as fodder for writers kill

Hi, my name is Peter Parker and I make satanic pacts with demons..I shall not buy Amazing Spider-Man until the marriage returns. Be a part of the movement.
I was a big fan of Choi and especially his solo series (I thought the start was some of the best stuff Byrne had done in years). But with Palmer back, Choi faded into near obscurity fairly quick. Besides, it's comics. If someone wants to bring him back, they'll find a way.
Really? Everything he said makes it sound like a rip-off of Secret Six. "They have one thing in common...they are all broken inside!"The new direction for "Titans" was done to give the fans something fresh and exciting.
And again, killing off characters just to pump up another character is not fresh and exciting...they have been doing it pretty constantly for the past 5 years.
No idea if he did or not, nothing said on his blog.
