I don't know whether to be happy that the MMO is being made or sad that it's done in Superhero Squad style.
Hopefully this will be good.
WTF, what a waste. DC making DCU Online, and Marvel making this waste...
Imagine how great a seriosus Marvel U MMO could be...

Batman, GL, Miss Fury, Uncanny X-Men, Hypernaturals, Witch Doctor, Casanova, Green Arrow, COPRA. +A bunch of trades every month.
This may be something I can play with my nephew online. He's really like super hero sqad.
The Gurnee Comic and toy show returns Sept 9th at the Gurnee Holiday Inn. Bigger room, more stuff!
Yuck, I'll pass.
"That was the ebb. Pray I do not demonstrate my mastery over the flow."
I predict a slow and painful death to this MMORPG. It wont work.
"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science."
"I have often regretted my speech, but never my silence."
Seriously? Uhh.
Well at least there's the DCUO in November.
Nice to see Nova in it...but that's really about it

How many MMORPGs are aimed at kids? How many parents would let their kids play a game like that for hours on end, online, with a world of strangers. There is nothing wrong with a game aimed at kids. But when an announcement is made about a Marvel MMO while DC is ramping one up featuring their characters in a "normal" comic book setting I think fans want to see something similar to that. Nothing wrong with Super Hero Squad game, but when I think of a dream Marvel MMO this is not what springs to mind. They should take advantage of the show and toyline for sure. But this isn't the type of game I dropped tons of cash on a PS3 and 360 to play and envision a big Marvel announcement around. I want to be able to recreate a Civil War type battle in the realistically 3D rendered streets of New York. This may be great for the kids, but I guess I was expecting a Marvel MMO announcement to target the audience that usually makes an MMO a success. This announcement seems to be outside that gaming genre's usual target. That's what makes me react with "meh".

Y'know, guys, we're probably not the intended audience for the game. Additionally, I imagine this will be in the same vein as those cheap, free Korean MMOs, like Ghost X.
"I personally have seen a lot more annoying complaints about political correctness than annoying examples of it."
So you're like one of the 5 people who doesn't think DC Online doesn't look like a piece of shit.
Truth be told this looks a lot better in my eyes. The colorful cartoony look is actually appealing, as opposed to the sort of "realistic" look you'd have to have for an MMO, plus you actually get to play as the heroes.
And... and... I want complete audio dialogue. And I want it to update every month with the comic books. And I want real-time-physic environment. And I want it to telepathically communicate with me. And... and...
Oh give me a break. Even DCOnline is just a glorified version of Marvel Ultimate Alliance with more people playing.
"......and dozens more Marvel heroes"
They can only do this as I imagine only "dozens" of people will be playing it.
Sure, it's cool you can play AS the characters, but how many Wolverines will I have to endure if I choose to play?
City of Heroes was fun (for awhile), I didn't care much for the gameplay of Champions Online. And to be honest, the character creators for both games was really one of the highlights of playing.
I'm not a DC guy at heart, although I am fond of some of their properties and will check them out. I was looking forward to the REAL Marvel MMO. It's too bad that it turned to vapor, and we got treated to this.
