Any hints or teases as to where you're taking "Black Widow" after this initial arc?
Not yet. I'm taking this one issue at time!
Fingers crossed to see another arc, at least.![]()

I wish she'd sex it up a bit more.
Too bad they didn't actually call her "Black Widow" in "Iron Man 2". I was pleasantly surprised with the first issue of this series though. Really looking forward to seeing how it develops.

Actually, an old issue of Daredevil written by Gerry Conway showed that Natasha was rescued from a burning building by Ivan in 1942. Of course, this was going by the fact that she debuted in the 60s -- which would have made her to be in her 30s in the 70s.In recent years the character has experienced a resurgence in popularity. Several miniseries have explored the Widow's origins and it's been revealed that Romanoff is a lot older than anybody realized. Born shortly before World War II, genetic tampering by Soviet scientists kept her young and gave her enhanced physical abilities.
Eventually Marvel had to retcon most of its characters' links to historical events. For intance, Flash Thompson no longer served in the Vietnam War (in current continutiy --he wasn't even alive then). But Chris Claremont chose to maintain Natasha's ties to the WWII era -- when he showed her a child in his Logan/Captain America story in WWII.
i liked the first issue; even though i have no idea what's going on.
Yeah, but that was largely ignored until Captain America v5 #27. In the Marvel Knights issues, she talks about her grandfather at Stalingrad, and Homecoming/The Things They Say About Her has her approaching her fortieth birthday and doesn't remember anything about her childhood, so her memories of Logan wouldn't be there like in the Claremont story. And by most recent happenings, the Ivan tale was retconned so it happened much earlier— in 1928 instead of 1942.
Continuity aside!! This was a good interview, and the first issue was really strong. Excited that Elektra is showing up, I do want to see how Acuna draws her. Funny that Liu hasn't seen the movie yet. At the least, it's good they are promoting this series.
