All the interviews with Grant have begun to sound the same. Would someone just ask what the deal is with the sixth issue of RoBW? He hasn't said crap about that one.
I hope... I hope.. I hope...
Morrison(ftlog) can pull this off.
If he does, it will be great.
Another couple of years on Batman. Sweet. I can keep reading Batman and have my cake too.![]()
"You can't trust them as poets either. The true poet is anonymous, as to his habits, but these boys have to look, act, and apparently smell like poets"
Flannery O'Connor on the beats.
"So I'll definitely be staying with Batman in some form for the next couple of years to finish this story off. "
Yes. Yes. Yes.
Thanks for not putting a "spoiler" in front of the interview... Won't get to read my B+R before next Thursday. Thus I'd have enjoyed being warned.
But I know, who cares for those retarded Germans from overseas ... ?

Agreed. To some extent. I'd hope to at least see some questions about Joker's motives (even though I'm sure we'll find them out in a month's time) or even about the nature of the Oberon Sexton identity (okay, we'll probably learn that, too) or even just the artistic background of how it's a Conrad Veidt homage and learn maybe if Grant was purposefully leaning toward a creepy Man Who Laughs element.
But as usual, the facts all sound straight and there's at least a tidbit of new information. It's fine that he tends to let the work speak for him.
The Techland interview is far more juicy.
A different Joker than we've seen in some time. (More influenced by the original?) A Black Mass for Batman? (Do they want to sacrifice Grayson? That would seem to connect to Batman # 666, although we know history isn't written in stone and Dick will survive)
Speaking of ... "The Knight, Death and the Devil" by Albrecht Durer, apart from being one of my favorite illustrations ever, could indicate Joker's role. "Death". Seems appropriate.
"Everything hs changed. ‘Dark’ entertainment now looks like hysterical, adolescent, ‘Zibarro’ crap." - Morrison, 2008.

Yeah, I'm really excited to see how this all plays out. The atmosphere of RIP was so dark and macabre that I can't even begin to predict how he'll top it. I mean, damn... And the Joker as Death is pretty fitting in that context. But who will he be killing?
Can the Devil die?
The best part.
Again, I know you don't want to jump too far ahead, but I know as far back as "R.I.P.," you thought you might be done with Batman at that point and then this new direction with Dick and Damian presented itself. Now it sounds like you have years left of stories. So, this isn't the beginning of the end of your run with Batman, is it?
Oh, definitely [not]. There are some things that were inserted into the story from the very beginning and you'll see as all of this stuff evolves. I kind of always thought that I would just cop out at a certain point. But suddenly, all of these different strands started to make themselves more and more obvious to me and I had to stay on until the conclusion. So really, what I'll be doing is taking it right back to where we began all of this with "Batman and Son." It's a big, mega-story that kind of makes sense to me in my head, so I had to make it work. So I'll definitely be staying with Batman in some form for the next couple of years to finish this story off.
