I also think Duane deserves credit for creating Hope's character. The X-Writers during Messiah CompleX had very little to do with it - in fact, it kept changing in Messiah CompleX! Haha, Hope is really awesome, and I can't wait to read a little more of her in the upcoming years. And I like that image at the top of this page. Makes Emma look like a dickhead.

Yeah, as was covered earlier in the thread, and it is good to see you reference that, the fact that Hope was pretty much developed in a slow, methodical, long term manner by a single writer makes it so that you either expect what Duane made Hope into, or you did not read the Cable series and thus have a completely random view of what Hope should be like based upon one's own assumptions rather than the characterization that took place in a book you neglected to read.
It seems that in Second Coming, at least this far, Zeb Wells is the only one with a really decent grasp on Hope's character, hopefullly once Second Coming is over, the other writers will read Duane's Cable series and acknowledge the character in there when they write Hope.

Moon Knight: Yes, kill me.... See if that works this time.

She's about 17, and yeah, Second Coming is really wreaking havoc on her established personality. I think Zeb Wells has come the closest having her punch Dani in the face because it referenced both her dangerous temper and the fact that she wasn't out of control when losing her temper - she was marking her territory so that the other X-Bitches knew she was in the house. Also, she's overprotective of Cable (she's seen him get his throat slashed to protect her).
Most of how we know her is in relation to Cable, her coming to accept him as her father even though she was always furious that he fought her when she tried to establish connections with others, from Stryfe, to Eli to X-23. Also, of course, to Bishop who she hates but who did help raise her.

Also, Cyclops is so narcissistic. Her eyes have glowed red before.

Best Hope and Cable scene from Second Coming so far.

Yeah that was an awesome bit.
And for anyone who has no idea about Hope's personality, and is dismayed over how she has been treated by all the Second Coming writers (with the exception of Zeb Wells), I can not reccomend enough the "A Girl Called Hope" back-ups that were collected in that Hope one shot, they will give you some glimpses into her personality from several points in time, and the last one is the best if you want to see how she feels about Cable.
