My personal Geoff Johns Flash reading order:

    Final Crisis: Rogues Revenge
    The Flash: Rebirth
    Blackest Night: The Flash
    Flash: Secret Files and Orgins
    Flash #1-onwards

Also, reading Final Crisis and Blackest night wouldn't hurt.

That's how you should go, You could probably skip Rebirth and just wiki it but Rouges Revenge is good and it kind of sets up the rouges for the new run.

Mark Waid's run was the big game changing arc for Flash in his maturation as a hero and in taking his powerset to the cosmic level. The stuff before it is good and readable, but less essential compared to what Waid did.

In all honesty, though, that's what made modern volume 2 Flash great... Wally's only been written by a handful of writers who worked on the book for a long time. You can't say that about most of the other big DC heroes (and, unfortunately, can't say that about Flash of late). So his story as a whole was much more consistent and building than almost any other post-Crisis On Infinite Earths Big-7 hero.

Flash #1 came out last week.

It's a pretty sweet issue, and fine as a jumping on point - I hadn't been following him before this, everything you need to know is there.

You even get a free flash ring with it!
    I'm not you.
    So you know I'm right.

Flash just started, and if you're new you won't care about the Barry-Wally wars, so you should try that.
