It looks nice, but he looks too clean.
A viking thundergod should look more weathered, armored, etc. He looks like an action figure.
One word comes to mind. EPIC
Can't wait for this.
Only after disaster can we be resurrected
Compare the pic to this...
And we have all kinds of awesome to see. I want to see a better pic, but as first pictures of a character go, this is pretty damn cool. As to his costume being too clean, this may be early on, before he gets all battle damaged.

Between seeing IM2 last night and this picture today I am insanely psyched for the Avengers movie.

I am disappointed e is wearing rubber and plastic rather than more authentic looking chain mail, leather, whatever...anything but rubber and plastic. It looks good for a still though and I hope it rocks but this is only making me nervous.

Early stills rarely look as good as the finished moving product. Things usually look a lot better once the movie magic is added.
Looks good. Remember this is the first picture we've seen so far. I have faith in Marvel. I bet we see a more gritty suit later on.
EDIT: My fault Phil Clark...I didn't notice your post below that pic.

Looks okay, the chain mail part doesn't look very metallic though.

I agree on some of the costume looking a little plastic, but as others have said, it's not the finished product. It might have a more real look by time the movie is ready to go(hopefully). Just a teaser image.
It's good to remember we don't know where in the film this picture comes from. Maybe this is his "modern" armor he uses as a superhero in the present day and he'll have a different outfit in Asgard.
Oh my, it's like a Mix between the Ultimate Thor and the Current one.
One Word. Epic.
